📣Progress is coming near the Farmington Crossings Development!
A few important details about upcoming construction:
📆Beginning in January 2027, work will begin on the turbo roundabout at the intersection of Bray Road, Woodlawn Drive, and US Highway 67. The roundabout has been designed to prevent traffic from backing up onto US Highway 67 and improve traffic flow into and out of the new Farmington Crossings Development. It will also help prevent congestion in nearby existing retail and residential areas.
📆Construction is expected to continue throughout 2027, with completion anticipated in August 2027. Because the project is dependent upon weather and construction scheduling, an exact completion date is not known at this time.
🚗During the planning process, there has been discussion about whether roundabouts are safe, user-friendly, and effective. Before approving plans, the City of Farmington dedicated considerable time to studying and evaluating the implementation of the roundabout. This included partnering with the Missouri Department of Transportation on plans to enhance traffic flow, improve safety, and modernize the infrastructure within this corridor.
📝In June of 2025, Lochmueller Group was hired by the Farmington Crossings developer to prepare a traffic study of the traffic impacts in the area. Several solutions were evaluated, including a traffic signal at Bray Road & US Highway 67 SB Ramps / Woodlawn Drive. A roundabout was selected as the most cost-effective solution that also satisfied MoDOT requirements.
🗣A public open house was held in September of 2025 that allowed time for the public to review the proposed plans and make comments.
🚨According to the US Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration, modern roundabouts can reduce severe crashes at intersections by an average of 80%.
🛣While a two-lane roundabout is slightly different than a one-lane roundabout, the basic operation is the same. Drivers approaching the roundabout must yield to traffic currently in the roundabout. Notice the reduced speed in the video as vehicles proceed through the roundabout.
We’ll continue to share updates as construction progresses. Keep an eye on our page for more updates as work begins in 2027!
