Love it or hate it, screen time has been a debate for generations. Beginning in 1984, the Farmington Library promoted a TV Turnoff Event that ran for several years in the 1980s. Funny enough, while looking for information about the TV Turnoff Event, we found several movie screenings at the library around the same time. Many chuckles were had as we dug through the archive.

Our Throwback Summer kicks off this evening with our annual kickoff celebration!

Join us tonight, Wednesday, June 17 from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM at the Farmington Library, 6 Monteith Drive.

Bring your dinner, a blanket, and/or some lawn chairs, and join us outside for some lawn games and activities. Then go inside to dance to some throwbacks with DJ Red Supreme as he spins music and leads dances. Didn't pack a picnic dinner? No problem! Craftbird, Ember, and Rita's Italian Ice food trucks will be selling food on site.

There will also be activities for all ages provided by our community partners! No registration is required. See you there!

There will be a Sensory Sensitive Hour from 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM that will include a handful of activities, the opportunity to sign up for Summer Reading, and more!

Between 4:30 PM and 7:30 PM, we will have a quiet room on the second floor of the library for patrons who may need to take a break from the noise and crowds.

A limited number of noise protection earmuffs will be available for Adults and Children.
