We love to highlight what our AmeriCorps Senior Programs are doing.
From Laura Kinder and Spark the Change Colorado
On June 2, Spark's Senior Companion Program was honored to host members of the AmeriCorps Mountain Region leadership team. We met at the Castlewood Library in Centennial, CO where three of our Senior Companion Volunteers each brought one of their clients. After introductions, our volunteers and their clients talked about what they do on their visits and how they feel they have been impacted by the program. Volunteers overwhelmingly agreed that being a volunteer brings purpose to their lives and the clients shared that having a companion allows them to be out in their communities doing the things they need to do as well as what they love to do. We were told that the leadership team was very impressed with the work we are doing.
