Once again, the Farmington Fire Department would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the Farmington, MN Business Networking Group for connecting us with Janie Tutewohl of Keller Williams Preferred Realty – Janie’s Home Team.

Janie stopped by Fire Station 1 today September 4, 2026, and delivered several cases of water for our firefighters. Thanks to her generosity, we now have a supply of water at both Fire Station 1 and Fire Station 2, helping us make sure our crews stay hydrated and ready to serve our community.

We are incredibly grateful to Janie for thinking of our crews and taking the time to support us.

Thank you, Janie, for taking care of those who take care of Farmington!

We are fortunate to have such an incredible community and local businesses willing to support their firefighters.

The Farmington Fire Department would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the Farmington, MN Business Networking Group for connecting us with Joe Fritz of Fritz Mechanical LLC.

Joe and his crew went out of their way to support our firefighters, picking up and delivering an entire pallet of water to the fire station, in the middle of a rainstorm!

It may seem like a simple pallet of water, but to our firefighters, it means so much more. Staying hydrated is an important part of staying safe and being ready to serve our community, especially during long or difficult calls.

We are incredibly grateful for Joe, his crew, and the willingness of local businesses to step up and support the men and women of the Farmington Fire Department.

Thank you, Joe and Fritz Mechanical LLC, for thinking of our firefighters and taking care of your community. We truly appreciate you!

Carter Hobbs began his fire service career in July of 2023. Since then, he has stepped up time and again to support the mission of the department and has dedicated countless hours to training, education, and department events.

Carter has poured his heart and soul into his commitment to the department and the community we serve. His dedication, willingness to help, and the relationships he has built will leave a lasting impact, and he will be deeply missed by all of us.

On behalf of the entire department, we want to thank Carter for his service, dedication, and the time he has given to our organization and community. We wish you nothing but the best as you begin this next chapter of your life in Florida with your family and embark on your new career.

While we are sad to see you go, we are excited for what lies ahead for you. Remember that you will always have a home here with the department, and you will always be part of our fire family.

Thank you, Carter, for everything you have given to us. Stay safe, and best of luck in your next chapter!

Daniel Sather Sr. joined the department in September of 2015. For more than a decade, Dan gave his time, energy, and experience to the department and the community, always willing to step up and do whatever needed to be done.

Dan was a true brother in the fire service. He was someone you could count on when someone needed him. His toughness, loyalty, humor, and willingness to get his hands dirty are just a few of the things that made Dan who he was around the firehouse. He would always be the last to take his gear off after a call, just in case.

"Deck Gun Dan" has left his mark on this department, and his contributions will continue to be part of the foundation we build on. While we will certainly miss his energy, drive, and presence around the firehouse, we wish him the best in his career.

On behalf of the entire department, thank you, Dan, for more than just your years of service.

Once a brother, always a brother. You will always have a place here.

ROAD IS OPEN, crews are still on scene working so drive with caution.

UPDATE as of 5:35, NPL dig crew has arrived and will begin to work on exposing the leaking pipe. Will update when the gas is off and roads are back open.
Update MN Energy is on scene and locating the leak, monitoring any ground migration and working on shutting the gas off.

Farmington Fire crews are on scene of a gas line hit on the 18400 block of Exodus Ave. Roads have been blocked off and we ask the public to avoid the area.

See attached map for areas blocked.

An update will come when we have more information or clear the road closure.

UPDATE: Gas line has been shut off. MN Energy will remain on scene to complete the repair. Please use caution in the area as many workers are present.

Farmington Fire Department is on scene of a hit gas line. Minnesota Energy is on scene and working to repair the line. Roads are closed on Euclid Path and Enhance Ct.

Please avoid the area.

Update 9:36 p.m.: The reconstruction has wrapped and the road is open again.

⚠Road Closure Alert: 212th St W going westbound between Akin Rd and Dushane PKWY⚠

Minnesota State Patrol and Farmington PD will be conducting a scene reconstruction tonight and will be closing off part of 212th Street West after 8:00 p.m. Please avoid the area to better keep the scene isolated and safe during the reconstruction. The roadway is expected to reopen by 10:00 p.m. Thank you for your cooperation.

UPDATE: gas leak has been shut off and MN energy is working on the repair.

Fire is out. Family is going to be displaced for a little while. No injuries reported and thank you to Farmington Police Department, Lakeville Fire Department and Apple Valley Fire Department.

HELICOPTER TRAINING – NO EMERGENCY

On Monday, August 17 from 7:00–10:00 PM, Tuesday, August 18 from 8:00–11:00 AM, and Thursday, August 20 from 7:00–10:00 PM, the public may notice a helicopter landing and taking off in the area of Farmington Fire Station 1 and Robert Boeckman Middle School on Denmark Avenue.

The Farmington Fire Department and Life Link will be conducting training during these times. There is no need for alarm if you see or hear the helicopter in the area.

For everyone's safety, we ask that the public please stay clear of the areas immediately surrounding the helicopter and training operations.

Denmark Avenue will remain open, and no detours are expected.
