Yesterday we celebrated “Sophisticated Seniors Month” — our favorite rebrand of Older Americans Month — with our members at Farmington Gardens.

This year’s theme, “Champion Your Health,” celebrates staying active, engaged, connected, and living with purpose at every age — something our members exemplify every day.

Thank you to Farmington Gardens for the delicious lunch and beautiful setting, Masonicare at Middlewoods of Farmington for the sweet treats, and Town Council Chair Brian Connolly for spending the afternoon with us.

Most importantly, thank you to our incredible members for allowing us to celebrate you. Your energy, kindness, and sense of community are what make the Farmington Senior Center such a special place.

Happy Sophisticated Seniors Month!

A huge thank you to our friends at Euro-American Homecare for hosting such a fun and creative patriotic wreath workshop here at the Farmington Senior Center! Our seniors had an amazing time — we’ve been hearing nothing but glowing reviews about the afternoon.

From laughter and conversation to some seriously impressive crafting, it was such a joy to see everyone’s creativity shine. And now… we have some beautiful red, white, and blue wreaths ready to be proudly displayed for Memorial Day 🇺🇸

We’re so grateful for this wonderful partnership, and are already looking forward to the next visit!

Teamwork makes the dream work! Since Friday, our entire staff, has been hard at work, helping our most vulnerable residents. We checked on almost 200 people, secured volunteers for a few of our homebound clients, reached out to multiple family members, managed several dial a ride critical medical trips, reorganized appointments as well as jumping into help as needed.

Today and yesterday our staff along with a few volunteers and some much appreciated assistance from Farmington CT Police Department - Community Policing Unit rolled up our sleeves to help dig out all the cars at our senior housing. This storm was a doozy and needed everyone’s help!

Thank you, everyone for your assistance!

We are ready (but not too excited - 🤪) to potentially do this again next weekend.

Farmington Community and Supportive Services has been preparing for the upcoming snowstorm.

Yesterday, HOPE Partners of Farmington, our Town’s Meals on wheels provider, included us in a news story about their meals on wheels program. We were thankful to be included.

The Town has an emergency plan for our most frail residents. Just a reminder for families, friends, and neighbors - If you are concerned about an elderly or disabled person please reach out to Farmington community and supportive services. We also keep an at risk list of our vulnerable residents - we have almost 200 people to check on with the assistance of our police department CERT team if needed. Our staff is ready to activate our plan and will continue to monitor the weather throughout the weekend

Please call our office with any questions, concerns or to be added to our At Risk List at 860-675-2390. We will be checking messages throughout the storm.

Stay warm - here is a copy of the news story below.

Now is the time to help the people in your life who might need an extra hand to prepare for this snowstorm. Farmington’s Community and Senior Center is busy, making sure 32 homebound seniors will be able to get the food they need as they weather a major snowstorm. “You find out you log quite a f...

Our ROMEOs are back at it and having a great time on their "Taste of Litchfield" outing!

ROMEOs (Retired Older Men Enjoying Outings) enjoyed a fun day starting with a tour of Litchfield Distillery, followed by lunch at Hometown Pizza. Great company, good food, and plenty of laughs made for another memorable day out.

A big thank-you to Bob for sharing some fantastic photos from the distillery.
