On Saturday, August 23rd, I had the honor of attending and speaking at a very meaningful LifeFlight landing zone dedication on Center Hill Road in Weld. The event was organized by Brent Daugherty as a heartfelt tribute to his late wife, Caren Mahoney Daugherty and as a beacon of hope for future medical responses in the Weld area.

It was deeply moving to see so many come together in her memory, including representatives from the Franklin County Regional Communications Center, Weld Fire Department, Maine EMS, LifeFlight of Maine, Franklin Search and Rescue, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office with Lt. David Rackliffe, and Franklin County Commissioner Skolfield for the Weld District.

This dedication not only honored Caren’s life and legacy, but also highlighted the strength and commitment of our community partners who work tirelessly to keep Franklin County safe. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a special moment of remembrance and unity. Thank you, Mr. Daugherty for your generosity of the invite and doing what you're doing to give back to a deserving community.

National Night Out 2025!

We were honored to participate in this year’s National Night Out alongside so many dedicated agencies and first responders, including:

-Franklin County Jail
-University of Maine at Farmington Police Department
-Farmington Police Department
-Maine Health Mobile Unit
-Chesterville, Farmington, Strong, New Sharon & Jay Fire Departments

…and many more incredible partners.

This event was a powerful example of collaboration, community, and connection — reaching both adults and children throughout Franklin County. It was a fantastic opportunity to engage with the public, build relationships, and support the shared mission of safety and unity in our communities.

A special thank you goes to Deputy Wacome, who did an outstanding job organizing this event. Your dedication and effort brought everyone together for a meaningful and memorable evening.

We’re already looking forward to doing it again next year!
