Due to inclement weather, the 2026 Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled. Veterans are invited to gather at the Town Hall Veterans Memorial (1 Monteith Drive) at 12:00 PM for a short ceremony.

The Memorial Day Parade will continue in 2027 in Farmington, with plans to return to Unionville in 2028 as part of the Town’s tradition of alternating locations each year.

Today, and every day, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms.

🚨 Scam Alert 🚨
The Farmington Police Department is warning the public about a recent phone scam. Scammers are spoofing the department’s non-emergency number (860-675-2400) to make it appear as though the call is coming from police.

Callers may falsely claim to be Farmington officers and attempt to collect personal or financial information, often under the pretense of investigating identity theft or fraudulent activity.

Stay vigilant:
Scams like this are constantly evolving. Never share sensitive information over the phone unless you are certain of who you are speaking with.

Verify the call:
If you’re unsure whether you’re speaking with a legitimate officer, hang up and call the Farmington Police Department’s communications center directly at 860-675-2400. A dispatcher can confirm whether the call is genuine.

This week, we proudly recognize and celebrate our Animal Control Officers during National ACO Week 🐾

Every day, ACOs go above and beyond to protect both animals and our community—responding to emergencies, reuniting lost pets with their families, investigating cruelty cases, and educating the public with compassion and dedication.

Their work isn’t always easy, but it is always essential. Thank you for your courage, commitment, and the care you show to those who cannot speak for themselves.

If you see an ACO this week, take a moment to say thank you 💙 THANK YOU BRENDA & LINDA!

This week is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, and we are taking a moment to honor the "unsung heroes" of our community. When seconds count, our dispatchers are the calm in the storm, the first voice you hear in a crisis, and the lifeline for our officers and firefighters in the field. 🚒🚔

To our Public Safety Telecommunicators: Thank you for your dedication, your resilience, and for being the heartbeat of public safety 24/7. ☎️

Distracted driving isn’t just dangerous, it’s preventable.
This April, the Farmington Police Department is joining agencies across Connecticut to crack down on distracted driving as part of National Distracted Driving Awareness Month.

If you’re texting or using your phone while driving, you risk a ticket and more importantly, a crash.

We all share the road. Do your part.
📱 Put the phone away.
👀 Keep your eyes on the road.
