This Memorial Day, we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We owe a debt of gratitude to the heroes who never made it home, and to the families they left behind.

In honor of Arbor Week, the Farmington Conservation Commission, with the help of Public Works, planted a flowering hawthorn tree at the Town Office. The hawthorn was carefully chosen as a tree that is hardy, drought-tolerant, and a favorite of pollinators. The Town of Farmington is lucky to have a Conservation Commission that actively works to improve the Town by pruning and re-mulching existing trees and planting new trees.

Farmington was also honored at the State's Arbor Week event for 49 years of Tree City USA status!

If you'd like to join the Conservation Commission, applications for all town Boards and Committees are available on our website: https://www.farmington-maine.org/municipal-boards-committees/board-committee-membership-application
