Farmington Community Fire Protection District

Farmington Community Fire Protection District Farmington Fire Department and Rescue 1100 serve the city of Farmington and the surrounding area.

Farmington Fire Department currently serves its district with 2 engines, 1 Tanker, 1 rescue truck and 1 brush truck. Rescue 1100 is a fully stocked, rescue trick operating at the basic level. Rescue 1100 is run by the fire department members but is funded entirely by donations.

On March 29, 2026, at 8:10pm we responded to a car vs. Motorcycle accident at the intersection of North Main and Fulton St. Both occupants of the Motorcycle were treated on scene and then transported by LifeFlight to OSF St. Francis in Peoria. They're current conditions are unknown. The three occupants of the car were evaluated but were not injured.

Assisting on scene was Farmington Police, Fulton County Ambulance and OSF LifeFlight.

No further information will be released on this matter.

March 26, 2026, at 11:24pm we responded to 34 N West St for a vehicle fire. When firefighters arrived they found a pick up truck with the engine compartment fully engulfed. Firefighters deployed a handline and the fire was brought under control in about 10 minutes.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
No injuries reported.

Press Release:

On March 26, 2026 at 2:13pm, we responded to the 200 block of N East St for a reported kitchen fire

Upon arrival firefighters found light smoke coming from the front door. Crews made entry and found that the fire had been mostly extinguished by the homeowner prior to our arrival. The fire damage was contained to the stove and cabinets above. The remainder of the house sustained some minor smoke damage. No injuries reported.

No damage estimate is available.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation but appears to be accidental in nature.

šŸ”„BURN BAN NOTICEšŸ”„

Effective immediately, the Farmington Fire Protection District has issued a BURN BAN due to current dry conditions and increased fire danger.
The following are PROHIBITED during this burn ban:
Open burning of any kind
Burn piles / brush burning
Campfires and fire pits
Bonfires
Burning of leaves, trash, or debris
Burning in barrels or outdoor containers
The following are still allowed (if done safely):
Cooking on gas or charcoal grills
Use of propane fire features (with an on/off valve)
Why this ban is in place
Dry weather and wind conditions can cause fires to spread rapidly, putting homes, property, and lives at risk.
