Taking this time to wish the happiest of all birthdays to the First Lady of Council District 3! For 22 years she has been my best friend, my comfort, my sanity, and my home. Not only is every aspect of my life better because of her, but any and all good that I do for our community is truly only possible because I have her by my side as the glue holding everything together. For the next 6 months I will bust her chops that she is 40 and I’m still in my 30’s, but not today. Today I will celebrate her and thank god for putting her in my life. ❤️

P.S. if anyone has a hard time contacting me now, it’s probably because she killed me for posting this. Godspeed.

👮‍♂️📢 MCAC Security Update 📢👮‍♂️

Visitors to the Middle Country Athletic Complex may notice a new security station near the concession stand. As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, a public safety officer will now be stationed at the complex to help deter inappropriate behavior and assist park visitors.

As always, the Suffolk County Police Department remains the primary resource for emergencies and law enforcement matters. However, our onsite public safety staff will be available to address concerns, answer questions, and help ensure that everyone has a positive visit to our park.

While I wish this step wasn't necessary, the safety and enjoyment of our residents, families, and athletes is a priority for me. My hope is that this will be a temporary measure, but for now, we are taking steps to protect and enhance one of our community's most valued recreational spaces.

A big thank you to our amazing Town of Brookhaven Parks and Recreation and Public Safety departments for their collaboration.

⚠️🏦Tax Receiver Press Release🏦⚠️

I hope that none of our friends and neighbors in Centereach were severely impacted and the complications from this are remedied quickly.

Regarding tax payments, our Receiver has guaranteed that anyone whose payment was affected will not face any penalties for the late payment as a result.

Yesterday officially marked 3 years in office. When I first ran for office, I made promises and, once again, the purpose of this post is to hold myself accountable for those promises.

I promised accessibility.
What good is an elected official if you are unable to reach them? Whether it’s a phone call to the office, an email, a Facebook message/tag, or a personal visit, I do my best to be as accessible as possible. This promise has gotten increasingly difficult over the years as more people learn who I am and how to contact me, but I try my hardest to respond to everyone as quickly as possible. Additionally, I do my best to gather as much public input on development projects as possible. From simple things such as park improvements, to more controversial subjects like cannabis, these open conversations are very important to me because I am not here to only serve myself, but to serve all of you.

I promised transparency.
Pulling open the curtains of town government has been one of my highest priorities since day 1. Whether it be notifying people of upcoming development, openly talking about my thought process behind decisions, or giving my presentation breaking down the tax bill and how it’s generated, I believe that everyone should have a good understanding of how their government works and what it is doing for them.

I promised responsible development.
My focus remains on redevelopment over new development. Development is a touchy subject, but I am always forthcoming and honest about projects while gathering your input before making decisions. I am also incredibly proud of the fact that, over these past 3 years, I have been able to preserve more acreage of green space than has been cleared for developmental projects within our district.

I’m forever grateful to those who placed their trust in me in 2023. If you voted for me, I hope you’re proud of that decision. If you didn’t, I hope I’ve earned your reconsideration over these past 3 years. Either way, there’s still a lot of work ahead and I vow to keep these promises. 🤙🏼

🚨Re-Development Update🚨

At tonight's planning board meeting, we held a public hearing for the re-development of the existing Valero gas station in Centereach on the corner of Middle Country Rd and North Coleman Rd.

The following modifications are being made...
- Addition of a convenience store. Most of the natural buffer is remining while also adding a new row of evergreen trees to further protect the northern neighbors from the site.
- Updated landscaping. The expansion of the landscaped area will enhance the aesthetics along Middle Country Rd and North Coleman.
- Reducing pump stations from 10 stalls to 8. The 2 stall station on the northern part of the site is being removed to accommodate the space needed for parking stalls for the convenience store.
- Reducing curb cuts from 4 to 2. In my opinion, this is the most important modification to the site. The two curb cuts closest to the intersection (the eastern cut on MCR and the southern cut on N Coleman Rd) are being removed. This will make entering and exiting the site significantly safer for all visitors to the site and travelers on both roads.

I love to see reinvestment in our community, especially when it comes with aesthetic and safety improvements.

Our 3 in 1 Special Recycling Event at the Sachem Library saw 625 cars come and recycle their paper, E-waste, and medication. Our district once again proved why we are the reigning, defending, undisputed special recycling event champions. Thank you to everyone who showed up to support. Looking forward to the next one happening on September 26th.
