If you've ever wondered which clerk's office you actually need, this video is for you.

I invited Suffolk County Clerk Vincent Puleo to meet with me to help better inform the residents of Brookhaven Town and Suffolk County about where to go for their important documents and services.

Although we both carry the title of “Clerk,” our offices handle very different responsibilities. As Town Clerk, my office works with vital records and local licenses, including marriage, birth, and death certificates, marriage licenses, parking permits for persons with disabilities, and more through Brookhavenny.gov/TownClerk.

The Suffolk County Clerk’s Office handles services such as deeds, liens, judgments, court records, and other county filings through Suffolkcountyny.gov/Clerk.

Too often, residents come into my office needing services that are actually handled by the County Clerk’s Office, and I know how frustrating and time-consuming that can be. By working together and strengthening communication between our offices, we hope to make it easier for residents to quickly find the right resources and get the assistance they need.

Happy Flag Day!

Did you know that the American flag has undergone 27 official revisions since 1777? Each star represents a state, with the current 50-star flag adopted in 1960 after Hawaii joined the Union. The 13 stripes honor the original colonies, red symbolizes valor and bravery, while white stands for purity and innocence. 🇺🇸

These colors represent the enduring character and spirit of the American people throughout history and across the nation. From the original 13-star design to today’s iconic symbol, the flag reflects our unity, resilience, and growth as a country.

It was an honor to join the community in celebrating America 250 Across the 4th LD. This event was dedicated to honoring our nation’s history, our veterans, and the values that unite us.

A special thank you to Suffolk County Legislator Nick Caracappa for organizing this memorable event. From the Hometown Heroes Veterans Wall unveiling and living history demonstrations to the student art showcase, Touch-a-Truck, classic car show, and live entertainment, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate, as well as the many volunteers, sponsors, reenactors, veterans, first responders, and community organizations who helped make the day such a success.

We look forward to continuing the celebration of America’s 250th anniversary! 🇺🇸
