✨🌀the birth of natural pHuel🌀✨
Everything has an origin story.
Odd to be writing about the creation at the end but better late than never. And wow how I will miss you pHuel but am I thankful for all the memories & more you have given me, Gregory & so many others. The ripples are boundless.
In September 2012, natural pHuel began as a non-nomadic home for the Southside Virginia chapter of the Holistic Moms Network, whose focus was the health of us & the planet. Since the first days at 1700 B South Main Street, in the basement of Colonial Farm Credit, we have been a pickup site for several food endeavors. For the entirety, the Goochland Center for Rural Culture online farmer's market has been delivered Thursdays year-round. Sunny Horizons Dairy, which once went by Elim Springs Farm, with their raw cow milk herd shares arrive Fridays. And during their CSA season veg shares from Crumptown Farm are delivered Thursdays as well.
A permanent home for HMNSVA also meant a space to practice the energy work I fell in love with in 2010, Jin Shin Jyutsu. I discovered natural health was a passion for me in 2009 & I earned my Certified Natural Health Professional designation in September 2011. Plant medicine has also been an influential part of my wellness journey throughout my life but I have been a doTerra essential oil daily user since January 2012.
But my first occupation will always be Mama to Gregory, my Bringer of Light, who arrived in 2008. He has always inspired me to leave the world a better place & he will forever be my greatest teacher. I am ever thankful to be his Mama. Being a parent is the most rewarding work ever. Choices around his wellness led me to become a L.E.A.N. Coach through a program with pediatrician Dr. Sears. Holistically looking at our health through lifestyle, exercise, attitude & nutrition is a lens I use to this day.
And so here we are, half way through 2026, the world as we have known it is burning. The lights going out at natural pHuel at the end of July will let more light shine elsewhere, I have faith. We've had playgroups, kids art classes, kids language classes, cooking classes, homeschool groups, wellness gatherings, spiritual series, yoga, sound healings, celebrated Earth Day & Food Day, had Kiwanis meetings & a Christmas Giveaway, had a 7th Fire honoring Joseph Rael, birthday parties for young & old & so much more. Here we have been, holding space for over 13 years with an abundance of creative energies, heart, healing & growing.
I always teased when I came out of retirement from my caregiving responsibilities I would really dive into the ways I could offer wellness to the community. The time here at natural pHuel doesn't align for too long left to make use of but I will give her all she's got & look forward to seeing what happens next. Oh Universe you are full of many wondrous surprises✨
Note: all current activities taking place at pHuel will relocate to pHunkadelic, 2790 W 3rd Street, so the shows will go on!
