Yesterday, our local archives came together to try to save some damaged Prince Edward County yearbooks. Leah Brown (Moton Musuem), Dawnelle Ion (HSC-Bortz Library), and Jamie Krogh (Longwood-Greenwood Library), vacuumed and gently cleaned the yearbooks to remediate mold damage to make them safe for public use. This work was also done outside for better ventilation and to expose the books to UV light, showing the real dedication of these professionals as they worked in yesterday’s record high temperatures.

Greenwood Library presents Pop-Palooza to help you destress from your exam prep!
Pop in for coloring, puzzles, snacks, and swag every day May 1-May 8. Try the popcorn bar in the library atrium (May 1, 3 PM- 5 PM; May 3, 4 PM- 6 PM, & May 6, 12 PM- 2 PM) and have a morning treat at the S’mores Bar (May 5, 10:30 AM- 12:30 PM). The Pop Up Writing Center will be in Library 142 on May 3 and May 5 (8 PM- 10PM). Finally, take a Bubble Break with us at 2 PM May 4-6 at the Solar Bench. Good luck on exams, Lancers!

The library will have extended hours starting this Friday. The hours are as follows: May 1, 8 AM- 8PM; May 2, 12 PM- 8 PM; May 3, 12 PM- 2 AM; May 4-May 6, 7:30 AM- 2 AM; May 7, 7:30 AM- 8 PM; May 8, 7:30 AM- 5 PM, and May 9, Closed. As we celebrate National Library Workers Day, we extend our deepest appreciation to all library staff, but especially our student assistants!

On Friday, we celebrated our student employees to thank them for their outstanding contributions throughout the academic year. They play an essential role in supporting the mission of the library and the success of our campus community.

The evening included a shared meal, reflections on the year, and a special recognition of our graduating seniors. Each senior was honored with a commemorative book plate placed in a selected library volume, as well as library graduation cords symbolizing their meaningful service.
