Pitt and Greene EMC continues to monitor the path of Tropical Storm Elsa and is ready to respond to any outages that may occur. We will address any impacts and begin restoration efforts as soon as conditions are safe. Our top priority is serving our members and their communities, and we will do everything we can to minimize disruptions to service while keeping members informed and safe. We urge everyone to prepare now by making a plan for your family’s needs in case of outages. You should also consider a backup plan for family members who are on oxygen or other health related equipment should you lose power. While you are preparing at home, line crews are also using this time to stock their trucks with materials needed for repairs and are testing equipment to make sure it is ready for use. Throughout the 26 electric cooperatives, crews are standing by to provide quick response to any of their sister cooperatives who might need additional assistance. North Carolina’s 26 electric cooperatives collectively serve approximately 2.5 million people in 93 of the state’s 100 counties.
