📊 Tax Tip: Still Need to File? We’re Here Through September

If you still need to file your taxes or your Home Heating Credit, now is a great time to get your appointment scheduled.

We’re still offering free tax preparation services through September, and our IRS-trained and certified volunteers are here to help you file your federal and state returns safely and accurately.

Back-to-school season is here, but did you know Head Start is more than preschool?

Head Start Preschool helps children learn, grow, make friends, and build skills for kindergarten. But Head Start support can begin long before a child walks into a classroom.

Early Head Start works with families during pregnancy and through a child’s first three years, supporting early development and helping parents and caregivers build strong foundations from the very beginning.

And both programs look beyond early learning. Families have a team to help with goals, child development, parenting, resources, and other needs along the way.

This September, we’ll be sharing more about what Head Start looks like in our communities, from pregnancy through preschool and beyond the classroom.

👶 Early Head Start serves those who are pregnant and children from birth through age 3 in Clare, Gladwin, Mecosta, Midland, and Osceola Counties. Apply at https://www.mmcaa.org/earlyheadstart.html or call or text 1-877-386-4406.

🎓 Customer Success Spotlight: Victoria's Achievement 🌟

Since joining MSHDA's Family Self-Sufficiency Program, Victoria has worked hard to reach her goals, and her dedication has paid off.

In May, Victoria graduated from Delta College with honors, earning two associate degrees in Electronics and Mechatronics. Along the way, she also received two awards recognizing her outstanding achievements.

Victoria has already put her education to work, accepting a full-time position as a Purchaser where she uses her electronics knowledge to source electrical components for a large machine manufacturer.

We're proud to celebrate everything Victoria has accomplished and can't wait to see where her career takes her next. Congratulations, Victoria! đź‘Ź

Housing support can change the direction of a family’s future.

Last year, we helped facilitate 92 successful housing placements, moving Veterans and their families from unstable situations into safe, long-term homes.

Serving Arenac, Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Lake, Mecosta, Midland, Newaygo, Osceola, and Saginaw Counties through Mid Michigan Community Action. Serving Gratiot, Ionia, Isabella, and Montcalm Counties in partnership with EightCAP.
