The weather couldn't keep our Summer Reading Program kids away!

We had a marvelous time singing, dancing, crafting and learning about sea turtles from children's author Kristen Halverson.

The program today was From Milk to Ice Cream. The kiddos learned how to make ice cream the old fashioned way - with milk, ice and a whole lot of elbow grease! 🍨

Our second program of the day was a real tail-wagger!

Sue Runyon brought her beautiful Leonberger dog, Belle, in to teach us all about dog breeding and care.

It was a wonderful presentation full of good information and wonderful stories about the dog breed.

This program was part of the Summer Reading Program. All of the kids and adults that are registered and attended, were able to put their names in for a drawing to be held at the end of the month.

We were blown away by all the information Nate Post shared with us today at the Pearls of Hope program.

Until today we had never heard of 'cold tornadoes' or realized that if you are going to be out in the heat you should drink plenty of water the day or two before you plan on being outside.

Such great information!

🔷Tuesday To-Dos!🔷

Today is a busy day at the library!

🔷 At 11 am today is another in our monthly programs from Maple Crest and Pearls of Hope - Summer Storm Safety for the Elderly, hosted by Nate Post.

Nate will be letting us know what we can do to stay safe during the increasingly inclement weather we have been having and what our elderly relatives need during severe storms.

🔷 At 2pm we will be visited by Sue Runyon and two of her pooches. Sue will be discussing the breeding of dogs and how to give your pups a happy, long and healthy life.

🔷 While you are at the library, stop at the front desk and ask about the Summer Reading Program. We are in full swing and would like to see you or your kiddos at the programs. There are things going on every day this month, which means multiple chances for drawings, prizes and our end of the month prize for everyone!

🔷 On Wednesday night, at 7pm we will be hosting our weekly Chess Knight! Stop by and test your skills or learn with some local pros, how to play chess. All ages and abilities welcome!
