One of the many perks of the Fayette Community Library are all of the things you can do and use that you wouldn't normally think a library would have.

Take for instance this cozy quiet room.

Small enough for you and a study partner, this room is in the back and far enough way from the normal clamor of the library that you will be able to study, read or have a zoom meeting in peace.

Come take a look. It is a first come, first served basis.

☀️Last Splash of Summer Kayaking on Gilbertson Pond!☀️

🕛 Noon–3:00 PM
📍 22580 A Avenue, Elgin, IA

We'll provide kayaks, paddles, and life jackets. Parent supervision requested for kids under 10. Prefer your own equipment? Feel free to bring your own kayak.

Kayaks are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If others are waiting, please limit your paddle to 30 minutes so everyone has a chance to get on the water. If no one is waiting, you're welcome to stay out and enjoy the pond as long as you'd like.

Gather your family and friends, soak up the last days of summer, and make some memories on the water. We hope to see you there! ☀️

🌞Monday Reminders🌞

🫧On Tuesday at 11am in the Community Room, we will be hosting Maple Crest's monthly program Pearls of Hope. This month's topic will be about mental health and aging and will be presented by Rachel Winkler from Emplify Hospice.

🤺Wednesday night at 7pm, we will have our weekly Chess Knight. Stop by and test your skills against some of our seasoned locals. All ages and experience levels are welcome.

🦖Saturday the 15th at 10:30am it is the return of Family Story Time with Mrs. B! Bring your little one in for a cozy and entertaining time fit for the whole family!
