Name: Julian Huggins

Experience in Education: I graduated from Knox College last June and spent some time in the building as a long term sub. This coming year will be my first year teaching!

Position for Next Year: 5th Grade social studies, science, and writing.

Get to know me a little more: I’ve played football my whole life, I love history and spending time with family and friends, and I will be coaching Football this year.

Favorite Book: Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass

Favorite Subject: History

Hobbies or Interests: I really enjoy fishing, camping, and cooking. I also really enjoy the gym!

3rd graders enjoyed a walking field trip to Henry’s today for some ice cream sandwiches! Big thanks to PTSA for paying for it and to Henry’s for opening just for us!!

Our 5th graders worked so hard preparing for MAP testing, and their growth on the NWEA assessments in ELA, Math, and Science absolutely blew us away! 🎉

As a fun incentive, our 5th grade team promised that for every 2 points of growth, students earned the right to pick a temporary tattoo for their teachers to wear. Let’s just say…we underestimated them! 😄

Across all three subjects, our students achieved an incredible 900 points of growth, which meant 450 tattoos for the teachers! 🤯

We are beyond proud of the dedication, effort, and progress our students have shown. Not only did they rise to the challenge academically, but they also made it a whole lot of fun along the way!

Way to go, 5th grade! 💙

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our generous sponsors for making Teacher Appreciation Week so special. PTSA has more planned for us for the remainder of the week!
Commercial Trust Company treated our staff to a fun and refreshing dirty soda bar! BTC Bank brightened our day with delicious donuts, and Fayette Together provided a wonderful spread of bagels and coffee, along with fresh fruit from Panera, keeping us fueled and feeling appreciated. Tri County Construction Services wrapped things up with a fantastic pizza and salad meal! Thank you for taking the time to recognize and celebrate the work happening in our classrooms every day!
