The North Carolina Senate was called back into session today to vote for HB 10 that included additional funding for Opportunity Scholarships. It's always a bad day when Lt Governor Robinson presides, and today was no different.

The Bill passed along party lines, every Democrat voted AGAINST it and every Republican FOR it. With the additional funding the amount Cumberland County public schools will lose is up from $17M to nearly $26M in just one biennum.

By 2034, $7 Billion of NC tax dollars will be stripped from public schools and funneled to private schools. Republicans in the NC Legislature and Trump/Project 2025 are lock step on destroying public education.
