ASP AIR 4

On Friday evening, I had the fortunate coincidence of seeing Arkansas State Police's Air 4, a 2008 Bell B407, landing at Springdale Municipal Airport and had an opportunity to photograph it!

These helicopters are powered by a Rolls-Royce 250-C47B Turbo-shaft with 650 horsepower. According to FlightRadar24, ASP was very active on the I-49 corridor throughout the night of the 28th, so if you heard or saw a helicopter, it was most likely Air 4.

On a personal note, I've been looking forward to getting my own photographs of an ASP Air Unit for several years now, as they are not common to the NWA Area and I am thrilled that the pilots and airport staff allowed me to do so. Thank you to the ASP Aviation Division!

LEE COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE - FLORIDA

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to tour the Lee County Sheriff's Office in Florida. The next several posts will feature some of their vehicles and equipment they use to keep their county of 3.3 million residents safe in emergencies and natural disasters.

Today's post features the LCSO's Aviation Division, comprised of three AirBus H125 A-Star helicopters, as well as a Cessna T210L. Each helicopter is consistently themed in the LCSO's green, gold, and white livery and can carry up to six occupants. This H125 pictured is equipped with thermal cameras, a winch, has a fly-time of 2+ hours and can fly at speeds of 130+ mph.

A sincere thank you to the team at the LCSO's Aviation Division and LCSO Headquarters for their incredible hospitality during the tour.

On Saturday, the Springdale Fire Department was dispatched to an Expanded Traffic Collision involving a dump truck and vehicle rollover on Huntsville, next to the Springdale Police Department.

Engine 1, Engine 8, Medic 3, Medic 4, Battalion 1, and the SPD responded to the scene. Two patients were transported and appeared to have only minor injuries.

Fayetteville PD FPIUs 🚨🚔

The Fayetteville Police Department recently added at least 14 Ford Explorer FPIUs to be used exclusively for their School Resource Officer program. These hybrid vehicles are well-designed and unique, as FPD has, previously, almost exclusively used Chevrolet Tahoes for their patrol fleet.

The newest of Springdale's Fire Station, Station No. 4, had its grand opening on April 24th, 2026, featuring the departments' modern design, as well as a new Engine 4 and Medic 4.

Located at 3377 W. Huntsville Avenue, it replaced the oldest fire house in the city and serves West and Central Springdale under Battalion 2. Congratulations Springdale Fire Department!
