Jamie Moreau, JP2

Jamie Moreau, JP2 I am the Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2, Fayette County. I have unique qualifications that make the role of Justice of the Peace an appealing prospect.

My Master's Degree is in psychology, but more importantly, I have spent over a decade working in the Emergency Room at Texas Children's Hospital, helping families in crisis. The job of the Justice of the Peace involves many aspects of our society from pronouncing deaths to serving as a magistrate at the jail. These needs, plus small claims court, minor traffic violations, evictions, and truancy al

l bring a level of crisis to those involved. I have also been a classroom teacher here in the county for several years. My abilities to work with adults and children alike speak to my capabilities of problem solving and effective decision making. Without a doubt, I have the skill sets needed to come along side the residents of Precinct 2 (and those visiting) to bring a professional compassion to these needs. I will represent my constituents with a confidence that can only come from experience. Please feel free to reach out via email: [email protected]. I look forward to an opportunity to serve as Justice of the Peace.

It’s been a difficult weekend so far on Texas waters.

As of posting, Texas Game Wardens have responded, or are currently responding, to multiple water-related fatalities and emergencies across the state, including:
▪️Lake Travis (Travis County)
▪️Lake Fryer (Ochiltree County)
▪️Galveston Bay (Galveston County)
▪️Benbrook Lake (Tarrant County)
▪️Lake Jacksonville (Cherokee County)
▪️Lake Brownwood (Brown County)

Every one of these incidents is a tragedy, and our thoughts are with the families and loved ones affected.

And while every incident has unique circumstances, many water-related tragedies are preventable. Taking a few simple precautions can help keep you and those around you safe.

🛟 Wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket.
🍺 Don’t boat under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
👦 Keep a close eye on children.
🚤 Wear your vessel’s emergency engine cut-off switch.
⛈️ Be prepared for changing weather conditions.
⚠️ Avoid unnecessary risks.

Conditions can change quickly, and emergencies often happen with little warning.
