The Education Alliance recognized Midland Trail High School for their business partnership with New River Gorge CVB. They are one of eight regional winners from across the state for the Hope for the Future Business Partnership of the Year Award. The partnership awards a $2,000 grant and as a regional winner they are a semi-finalist for the state award that is valued at $25,000. We are very proud of MTHS and their regional accomplishment. The award was presented by representatives of the Education Alliance Lynn Bostic and Robert Crawford.

Jennifer Scott, FPK8 science teacher, has been selected as a member of the STEM Pioneer Teacher Corps—an impressive and highly competitive honor. This prestigious program, funded by a $5 million National Science Foundation grant, recognizes 27 exceptional educators across the Mid-Atlantic region who are leading the way in elementary STEM education and expanding opportunities for students.
Jennifer brings 12 years of experience and a strong passion for hands-on, real-world learning. As she transitions into her new STEM role at Fayetteville PK–8, she will continue inspiring students, coaching academic teams, and helping connect our rural Appalachian learners to meaningful STEM pathways.
We are incredibly proud to have her representing Fayetteville PK–8 and Fayette County Schools—this is truly an outstanding accomplishment.
