🎓 August 7th is officially “My Future So Bright Day” in Fayetteville — declared by Mayor’s Proclamation to celebrate the young people coming up through programs like NCWorks NextGen.
We were honored to attend the closing ceremony for this year’s NCWorks NextGen & MCRC “My Future So Bright” Summer Work Program at FTCC. Local teens spent their summer gaining real work experience with 60+ Fayetteville businesses and organizations — from law firms to healthcare providers to city departments — while learning workplace skills, professionalism, and what it takes to launch a career.
The keynote came from NC Senator Val Applewhite, with City of Fayetteville, Cumberland County, and FTCC leadership all showing up to celebrate these young people. This is exactly the kind of program that builds Fayetteville’s next generation of workers, leaders, and business owners.
Know a teen or young adult (ages 16-24) who should be part of this next summer? NCWorks NextGen connects youth with education, job training, and paid work experience.
