We operate a 24 hour day, 365 day a year crisis hotline available in both Spanish and English. Our crisis line advocates assist clients with referral services, safety planning, and coming into shelter. Join us September 17th at Six Twelve Coffeehouse & Bar from 5-7pm to celebrate the start of a new season and the weeks leading up to October - domestic violence awareness month! Don't forget to wear 💜 PURPLE 💜

This kickoff party will also be the start of a 2-week long toiletry drive benefitting survivors and their children at Peace at Home Family Shelter. Collection will run from September 17th through October 1st.

Toiletries include: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, face wash, mouth wash, lotion, period products, baby wipes, diapers, makeup, nail polish, and Black/curly hair care products. Full size toiletries are preferred*

Six Twelve will DONATE 10% OF SALES to benefit survivors of domestic violence.

We have 2 pop-ups scheduled at some of your favorite local coffee houses! ☕️

Come see us this Saturday, 10am-noon at Confident Coffee Roasters in Johnson. We will provide all the materials you need to write a quick, encouraging note for families staying in the emergency shelter. We'll also have free bookmarks and brochures to take home.

Then, come out to see us at Cafe Con Chisme on October 9th from 10am to noon!

Kickoff Party & Toiletry Drive: Join us September 17th at Six Twelve Coffeehouse & Bar to celebrate the start of a new season & the weeks leading up to October - domestic violence awareness month! Make sure to wear purple and bring an appetite. More coming soon! 💜

Natural State Roller Derby 🛼: Come see us at the September 19th Natural State Roller Derby Game! We'll have brochures and other helpful information for you take home for free. Tickets for the game are available at naturalstaterollerderby.com

2026 Courage Awards Luncheon: This year's Luncheon will be extra special✨️ In preparation for our 50th Anniversary in 2027, we will be recognizing the Founders of Peace at Home Family Shelter. At the heart of that founding story are Dr. Barbara Taylor, Dr. Honore Hughes, and Suzanne Pharr who will be present on stage to accept the award on behalf of all the founding mothers of Peace at Home.

The event will take place on Thursday, October 1st from 11:30am to 2pm at the Fayetteville Public Library. Email [email protected] to sponsor this event.

Having an anxious attachment style makes leaving abuse very difficult.

For those with an anxious attachment style, attachment wounds (deep emotional injuries often stemming from childhood/having your trust broken) come from a fear of abandonment. This fear leads to needing more than typical reassurance to feel connected and at peace.

The cycle of violence triggers attachment wounds and attachment wounds contribute to the cycle. In other words, anxious attachment is worsened by abuse.

The good news is attachment styles are not written in stone and Peace at Home is here for you if this is something you're struggle with.

This year's Courage Awards will honor the remarkable women who founded Peace at Home Family Shelter. In 1977, these women answered a critical need in our community long before systems or funding existed to support them.

At the heart of that founding story are Dr. Barbara Taylor and Dr. Honore Hughes, who will be present on stage to accept this recognition on behalf of all the founding mothers as we look ahead to our 50th anniversary in 2027.
