Healthy smiles help our Cleveland Crocodiles learn and grow! 🐊🦷

Cleveland Elementary has partnered with Help A Child Smile to provide convenient dental care right here at school. Services may include exams, cleanings, X-rays, fluoride, sealants, and cavity treatment when needed.

Dental care is typically covered at no cost for students with Medicaid or CHIP. Other affordable options are also available.

🚗 Please help us keep morning arrival safe and moving smoothly by staying in the car line whenever possible, especially between 7:30–7:40 a.m. Students may not cross the crosswalk alone and must be accompanied by an adult.

We are feeling extra thankful for our Cleveland community this week!

On Sunday, volunteers from Grace Church and Flat Rock AME Church showed our school incredible kindness. They prepared goody bags for every staff member, filled our building with encouraging words, and packed 2,000 Friday food bags to support our Cleveland Crocodiles over the weekend. What an amazing example of a community caring for one another!

That spirit of appreciation continued throughout the week. Our PBIS team surprised staff with a midweek snack cart, and our hallways were filled with families who joined us for Curriculum Night. We are also incredibly thankful for our PTO, who provided pizza for our families to enjoy during the evening!

From our community partners and staff members to our students and families, we have so many reasons to be thankful. Cleveland is more than a school. It is a community that shows up, gives back, and takes care of one another. 💚

🐊 Croc Conversations with Mrs. Staggs 🐊

We have some exciting things happening at school!

🧺 Tonight: Kindergarten Picnic on the Playground!
Kindergarten families can park near the back of the school, bring a blanket and dinner, and enjoy a fun evening of playing, visiting, and getting to know other kindergarten families. We can’t wait to see you!

🎶 Next Week: Chorus Auditions
Fourth- and fifth-grade students interested in chorus can audition during their regular music class next week. Get those singing voices ready!

📚🐊 Cleveland Elementary Curriculum Night is coming up!

Join us on Thursday, August 27 to learn more about what your child will be learning this year, meet with their grade-level teachers, and discover ways you can help your child have a successful school year!

We’re offering two sessions so families with multiple children can attend both:
🕕 Session 1: 6:00–6:40 PM
🕖 Session 2: 6:50–7:30 PM

While you’re here, stop by the cafeteria for PTO & Pizza and learn more about Cub Scouts!

We had a wonderful second week of school! 💚

Yesterday, families should have received a Leader in Me Family Activity focused on the Circle of Control. This is a great activity to complete together as a family this weekend! Once you are finished, be sure to send it back to school. We will proudly display the completed activities outside of our Family Resource Center! 🌟

🎉 PBIS KICK-OFF AT CLEVELAND! 🐊

This morning, our Cleveland Crocodiles kicked off the school year with an AMAZING PBIS assembly! We had dancing, competitions, lots of school spirit, and the best surprise of all...

A special performance by the Fayette County High School Marching Band! 🎶

We also enjoyed a special skit performed by a talented group of our 5th graders, who did an amazing job modeling what it looks like to be Safe, Respectful, and Responsible on the playground! We are so proud of these students for stepping up and helping teach their fellow Crocodiles through their creativity and leadership.

We are SO proud of the way our students demonstrated what it means to be Safe, Respectful, and Responsible throughout the entire assembly. They cheered, participated, listened, and represented Cleveland with Crocodile pride! And because they did such an amazing job, our Crocodiles earned a VERY special reward from our amazing principal, Ms. Staggs!

What a fun way to start the year! We can't wait to see all the amazing things our Crocodiles accomplish this year! 💚🐊

🐊💚 Welcome back to another week of Croc Conversations with Mrs. Staggs! 💚🐊

We had a wonderful first week of school! 🎉 Thank you for helping make it such a great start to the year. I am so proud of our Crocs and all they accomplished during their first week!

📚 A few reminders for Week 2:
💚 Please check your child's green folder every day. It will come home in their backpack with student work and their PBIS points sheet, so you can see how their day went.

📬 Thursdays are our school communication day! Please set aside a little extra time to look through your child's green folder on Thursdays. We will send home important school information such as flyers, field trip forms, permission slips, and other announcements.

Thank you for being such an important partner in your child's education. Your support at home makes a big difference!

✨ Let's have a fabulous second week of school, Crocs! We can't wait to see everyone back in the classroom! 🐊💚
