As we celebrate Labor Day, we’re taking a moment to recognize and appreciate the hard work and dedication of the people who make our community so special — including our incredible Meals on Wheels staff and volunteers, who give so much of themselves to support our neighbors.

We also know that holidays can look a little different for the older adults we serve. For many of our clients, their Meals on Wheels delivery is an important part of their day — not only for the nutritious meal, but for the friendly face and connection that comes with it. ❤️

Our office will be closed Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. We hope our staff, volunteers, clients, and our entire community have a safe, restful, and meaningful holiday.

Thank you to everyone who works hard to make our community a better place! ❤️💙

I’m pleased to announce that I will be hosting an Onondaga County Senior Fair on Saturday, September 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the North Syracuse Junior High. The event is designed to connect seniors and their caregivers with resources that can help with navigating healthcare, wellness, and socialization as they grow older.

This event will include over 40 vendors including Access CNY, Crouse Health, Fidelis Care, the YMCA of Central New York, and more. I’m proud to host events that bring impactful resources directly to seniors in one convenient location, making it easier to find answers and connect with organizations that can make a meaningful difference in their everyday lives.

The Annual Meals on Wheels America Conference in Las Vegas did not disappoint! From innovative sessions and inspiring ideas to incredible networking opportunities—and, of course, a little fun—we had an amazing experience.

Our Executive Director, Jennifer Covert, was honored to serve as a panelist and represent our small local chapter on such a big stage. It was an incredible opportunity to share our experiences, learn from others, and help showcase the important work being done by Meals on Wheels programs across the country.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s conference in Atlanta! 💙
