Thank you, HOPEtown!

Our thanks to the fabulous and fun Julie Miller, director of the Lincoln County Family Resource Center, for taking our director and his wife on the road today on visits to every school in the district. We were blessed to provide needed hygiene and hair care products for each school and to share a bit more about HOPEtown while learning much more about each school and its needs. What a great day!

***ANNOUNCEMENT.*** We've been waiting to announce this event until we had all the details, and here it is!

It's a Labor Day celebration on the Petersburg Town Square this coming Sunday, September 1!

At 5 pm we will be doing a KIDS' CLOTHING GIVEAWAY that is open to ANYONE FROM ANYWHERE. We'll have wonderful items for both boys and girls...all for FREE! Just bring your kids with you and see what treasures you can find.

The giveaway will continue through 6 pm, at which time our friends at Hot Diggity Dog will begin serving hamburgers and hot dogs and chips...also FREE TO EVERYONE! Petersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church will be providing FREE drinks and desserts also!

At 7 pm time a COMMUNITY WORSHIP SERVICE will begin which we will lead in partnership with Petersburg First Baptist Church and Petersburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church and which will feature communion, prayer, a message from the Word, and music provided by the HOPEtown Boys. This worship time will take us to about 8 pm and will be beneath a tent on the concrete pad beside the downtown fire hall.

And then...then...well, we had intended to shoot the fireworks that had to be canceled on July 4th because of dry conditions, but lack of rain and the extreme heat we are expected to experience this week means we have to cancel again. Don't worry...we'll make it up to you, Lord willing, with a fireworks show for the ages next July 4!

Again, our Labor Day celebration is next Sunday, September 1, and is a true community celebration featuring a children's clothing giveaway, great food, and worship led by different groups but done in one Spirit. Hope to see you there!

Please share this post and plan to attend!
