Please remember fire danger is very high right now. No burning of any kind.

Arkansas remains at an increased risk for wildfire. Sixty‑two counties are currently at high risk, and the remaining 13 are at moderate risk. Burn bans are in effect in 63 counties. Under these conditions, fires can ignite easily, spread quickly, and become serious if not addressed right away. Even small brush fires or campfires can escape.

The public is urged to avoid activities that could unintentionally start a fire and to follow all local burn restrictions. To reduce wildfire risk:

🚫Avoid outdoor debris burning.
🚫Do not discard ci******es outside.
🚫Avoid parking vehicles on dry grass.
🚫Use caution with equipment that creates sparks.
🚫Never leave any outdoor flame unattended.

Report wildfire smoke or fire immediately to Forestry Dispatch at 1‑800‑468‑8834.

**Burn Ban**

No outside burning permitted!

Washington County Arkansas Judge Patrick Deakins has issued a county wide burn ban beginning today, August 11, at noon.

“Right now, we have to consider not only the threat of fire, but also the conditions our firefighters and other emergency responders are working in,” said Judge Deakins. With temperatures in the upper 90s and heat indexes expected to exceed 100 degrees, the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion and heat stroke is very real. “A burn ban will not eliminate every fire, but it can reduce the number of preventable fires caused by outdoor burning. Every fire we can prevent means one less situation where we are asking our first responders to work in these extreme conditions.”

We enjoy when we get the opportunity to work or train with other agencies or community partners. Training tonight focused on LZ (Landing Zone) and how we can help when it comes to setting it up. We also got a little hands on time with loading a patient and a nice walk around of the helicopter.

We always enjoy our visits with Air Evac 4 - Springdale, AR when it comes to training and on scene time. Learning more about what they do and the different ways we can help from the ground is always important when it comes to patient care.

We work alongside these people everyday and we want to make it easier for them to do their job! Thanks again!

Last night, the crew from Medic 8, Paramedic Molly D., Paramedic Danny R., and EMT Rebecca W., attended the Wedington Fire Department's monthly training to help familiarize their newest members with our ambulance, equipment, and how we work together on emergency scenes. We appreciate the opportunity to train alongside our partners and continue building strong working relationships that benefit the patients we serve.

Training is so important on so many levels!! At Wedington, we are very lucky to have such a great team of Training Officers who give us real life scenarios to work with. Because of these trainings, we are able to arrive on scene and know exactly what to do.

This week, our training focused on patient care and extrication. Patient care is crucial when it comes to extrication.

Please note in these pictures, lots of syrups were used to ensure the scenarios were as close to real life as possible. Our patients were pretty believable too!

Today was the final day of Ozark Valley Triathlon. Lots of great competitors today and they all did great!! It turned out to be another nice day with light showers towards the end of the event. Definitely perfect weather for a triathlon!!

Today started day 1 of the Ozark Valley Triathlon at Lake Wedington presented by All Sports Productions. Wedington Fire Department served by being present for any medical assistance needed. As always, we enjoyed our time!

Congrats to all the competitors on a job well done today! We will see you tomorrow for round 2.

Friends of Lake Wedington invited us to join them at Lake Wedington today for their Free Lake Day event. We had several visitors checking out our fire truck and enjoying the day at the lake.
