A few people have asked what we've been up to lately... and the honest answer is: a lot. π
These photos are just a small glimpse of life at the VRC over the last few months.
We've planted tomatoes at the Center with our friends from the Cape Fear Botanical Garden, learned about Non-24 during a Lunch & Learn with Vicki Preddy from Vanda Pharmaceuticals, shopped at Unilever and Pate's Farm Market, attended the NC Disability Rights 2026 Advocacy Conference, shared meals and great conversations with our Foodies group, sang karaoke at Chick-N-Waffles, got our hands messy in our monthly clay class, hosted our family meetings, and spent countless hours laughing, learning, and supporting each other.
To our volunteers, community partners, and everyone who welcomes our members with kindness wherever we go: thank you.
We were a little overdue for an update, so here's one from our VRC family to yours.
We're now getting ready for some big ones:
our Train trip to Selma NC, Youth Summer Camp, and Casino trip!
Remember: Our call for VOLUNTEERS is OPEN! Email [email protected] if you're interested in joining us.
Thanks for being part of the journey. ποΈπ
