The Women's Democratic Club of Franklin County The Women's Democratic Club of Franklin County invites women who share our values and concerns. We also have an annual luncheon in September.

The Women’s Democratic Club of Franklin County, a chapter of the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women, brings together women in Franklin County who are dedicated to building the Democratic Party, to supporting Democratic candidates, and to working on the important issues facing our communities. We provide something unique in Franklin County—a place where Democratic women from across the reg

ion can join together to network, socialize, and organize with other women who share our concerns, our politics, and our values. Working together, we can help elect candidates, educate the public about issues, and make a real difference. We meet at noon on the third Thursday of each month at 12:00 at Hoss’s, 20 Falling Spring Rd, Chambersburg except for July and December. Our annual dues are $10.00. "I will attend the University of Pittsburgh in the fall to study Bioengineering, working towards pre-medical studies and a potential career in dermatology or as a medical specialist. I hope to contribute to a healthcare system that is more just, inclusive towards underserved communities, and rooted in the belief that quality care is a right, not a privilege. "Hi! My name is Lainey Peyton, and I am a 2026 graduate of Waynesboro Area Senior High School. I will be attending the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg this coming fall, where I will pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education. I also hope to obtain a minor in either Creative Writing or Journalism. I have been accepted into the University of Pittsburgh’s Frederick Honors College, and will be playing for the university’s women’s soccer program."

Class of 2026 Scholarship Recipient: Elizabeth Cieri 🎓🎉

Ellie Cieri is a member of the Waynesboro High School Class of 2026. She is active in the National Honor Society, Executive Council, Student Lighthouse, B2I, and the marching band. Ellie is also a member of the varsity gymnastics and track and field teams at Waynesboro High School, and competes with the Rainbow Gymnastics team. A 2024 graduate of Leadership Franklin County Youth, Ellie has spent the past three summers working at Antietam Dairy. In the fall, she will attend Millersville University, where she plans to major in Digital Media.

Join us as we kick-off 🎉 recognizing our Class of 2026 Esther Wagner Memorial Scholarship Recipients 🎓 starting with its namesake, Esther Wagner!

Esther Wagner, a longtime member of the WDCFC, was a champion of a wide range of issues geared toward improving every aspect of people's lives. Her efforts focused on ensuring that women's perspectives and aspirations are recognized in all areas of government and public service. Her lifetime of service to the community and dedication to the Democratic party was unparalleled. Esther was a former president and secretary of the WDCFC, living to the age of 101 while remaining socially and politically active. Some of her accomplishments include: 2022 Birdland Community Hero - Baltimore Orioles, 2022 Honorary Memorial Day Parade Marshal, Veterans Chairman - American Legion Auxiliary, 2021 PA State Dept. Poll Worker Hall of Fame, Served 68 years as Poll Worker & Judge of Election - 5th Ward, May 2, 1995 named Esther Wagner Day by Chambersburg Mayor Robert Morris, various volunteer & citizen of the year awards from civic groups including the Spirit Award from Kiwanis, Past President - Chambersburg Hospital Women's Auxiliary, First Female Elder – Zion Reformed Church, 50 Years of Service Award - Pennsylvania State Sunday School Association (taught 65+ years!), Past President - AARP Franklin County, Heritage Center Tour Guide - Franklin County Historical Society - Kittochtinny, Avid Bowler - Highest Score 228, Foster Mom, and never missed an Election Day since eligible to vote at 18!
