NEW: Mississippi County approved a dedicated sales tax for "economic development" in 2002. Since then, the county has attracted $8 billion in steel investment — and lost more than a quarter of its population.

Half the subsidized jobs go to workers from out of state. Locals are priced out of housing. And now the county is offering $50,000 in tax-funded housing incentives to steel workers — while 21% of residents live below the poverty line.

Issue 3 would expand this model to every county in Arkansas.

Nearly 1,000 Arkansans were elected as delegates to the 2026 Republican Party of Arkansas State Convention. Only 588 were allowed to vote.

Twenty-two counties were shut out entirely, including Washington County, which filled its full delegate allotment under state law and wasn't even allowed to defend itself.

After six and a half hours, the party's "final authority" conducted about 20 minutes of actual business.
This is the party that holds every statewide office in Arkansas. So who does it really represent?

🚨 NEW: The Republican Establishment has spent years proving it is more interested in controlling the party than listening to its own members.

Delegates who make it to the floor on June 6th must understand the moment. The RPA is not acting as a neutral arbiter of the rule of law, but rather weaponizing the rule of law for political gain. This convention will be a referendum on whether the Republican Party of Arkansas can still be a vehicle for the will of voters, or whether it has become a closed dynasty, controlled by the permanent political class.

That’s why county conventions matter.
