Please take a moment out of your day and remember former Officer Rufus Foxx.

Rufus Foxx was educated in the Lincoln County School System and graduated from Boonshill High School, where he was a great basketball player. He loved sports and was a great Tennessee Vols fan.

Mr. Foxx held numerous jobs before he found his passion in working in law enforcement. He served in law enforcement in Fayetteville, TN before coming to Huntsville where he served for a combined 31 years. Mr. Foxx started as a patrolman and was promoted to a Lt. before his retirement.

He traveled and taught at many places over the U.S. With all of his many degrees and certificates that he earned, his greatest degree was in Jesus Christ. He was a great Pastor and man of God. He loved people and teaching people about Jesus Christ.

Polly A Jeter of Fayetteville passed this life on Saturday, December 21, 2019.

Polly attended Tennessee State University, Peabody College, Shelbyville Tennessee Vocational School, and graduated from West End High School.

In her life, Polly was a member and officer of the NAACP and enjoyed employment as: (1) a substitute teacher; (2) the first Black female staffer and teacher of the Headstart Program; (3) services representative for both Lincoln and Giles County, Tennessee Health Department; (4) the first Black to work at Joe Sir’s Department store; (5) a reserve law enforcement officer and retired as an Emergency Dispatch officer, for Fayetteville, Lincoln County, Tennessee, after 31 years of service.

Joel was born November 6, 1963 in Lincoln County to the late Donald and Frances Hendrix Massey. Joel retired as a Lieutenant Investigator from the Fayetteville Police Department in 2019 after serving over 30 years. Joel loved fishing and spending time with his family and friends, and was a member of the Taft Church of Christ.
