PECO Utility Restoration to Close Brownsville Road Weeknights in Bensalem, Lower Southampton Townships

King of Prussia, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that PECO Energy will perform utility restoration on a Brownsville Road in Bensalem and Lower Southampton townships, Bucks County, beginning on Monday, November 2.

Drivers are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Monday, November 2, through Friday, November 20, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, Brownsville Road will be closed and detoured weeknights between Old Street Road and Bristol Road. During the closure, drivers will be directed to use Old Street Road, Route 132 (Street Road), Route 213 (Bridgetown Pike), and Elmwood Avenue or Bristol Road, Route 213 (Bridgetown Pike), and Elmwood Avenue).

Local access will be maintained at all times. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work area or along the detour route because backups and delays may occur. The schedule is weather dependent.

💙 October is Dysautonomia Awareness Month! 💙

At last night’s Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board adopted Proclamation-Resolution 2026-27, officially proclaiming October as Dysautonomia Awareness Month in Lower Southampton Township.

Dysautonomia is a group of medical conditions that affect the autonomic nervous system, which controls many of the body’s automatic functions, including heart rate, blood pressure, breathing, digestion, and temperature regulation.

Dysautonomia can affect people of any age, gender, race, or background, including members of our own Lower Southampton Township community.

💙 This month, we encourage our residents to learn more, spread awareness, and show support for everyone living with dysautonomia.

A potent cold front arrives later Friday. Some severe thunderstorms with damaging winds are possible later in the afternoon and evening. The main wind risk with thunderstorms may be in the form of a narrow squall line. It turns much colder Friday night.
