Last week was a great week! Lots going on at the library with the many programs they run and lots of donations to the Friends Book Sale!

Oh, and another great event was the Friends of the Ferdinand Library Membership Party!

“Friends” members gathered in the Community Room on (8/27) Thursday evening for a sweet “Meet n’ Greet”. AND a PIZZA FEAST of almost every kind of pizza toppings you can combine. AND a delectable mound of fresh fruit on the side, AND…. root beer floats.

Ideas were shared for future gatherings and for various presentations to offer to members and the public.

It was a delightful gathering and we left with promises of more to be planned.

The library always looks so lovely but this evening it had an extra special glow!

Our September Friends book sales are slated for Friday, September 11th from 3:30-4:30 for Friend’s members and on Saturday, September 12th, from 10-1.

The Friends of the Ferdinand Library will have a table at the Ferdinand Folk Fest on September 19th. Stop by for free books, bookmarks, activity pamphlets, and library information.

It is amazing how many donations come in each month to replenish our sales tables and shelves. Thanks to all individuals and families who share their books, CDs, DVDs, and puzzles with us. Monies go towards library programming and materials.

Oh how I wish this would work for my Travel Journalling! But if you’ve seen my many journals…. Haha. Well, mine are stuffed FULL and kind-of-messy, filled with “stuff” and photos and bits & pieces, and found objects like rocks, 4-leaf clovers pressed flowers and such…. More like a scrapbook. There might or might not be “lines” to write on. And most have ribbons or bands tied around them to keep them intact…..You get the picture.

How I wish I could be more deliberate but that’s just not me. I’ve seen journals that are precise, perfect, beautifully written, a couple gorgeous photos and keepsakes and still totally convey the beauty and thrill of a trip. And I LOVE looking at them!

That’s more what this one is for. If that’s you——grab it!!!! It’s the pretty sage green color, hardbound and nicely detailed inside.
