🚒 Come See Us at Touch-A-Truck! 🚒

We’re excited to be out in the community for a fun Touch-A-Truck event! Come check out our fire apparatus, meet our firefighters, and let the kids get an up-close look at some of the equipment we use to serve our community. We hope to see everyone there!

These are the moments we do it for.

The little hands grabbing the steering wheel.
And the moms standing nearby thinking, “I wish I could freeze this moment.”

🚒 Champion Fire/Rescue is Hiring! 🚒

Champion Fire/Rescue is currently accepting applications for Part-Time Firefighters and live in personnel.

Position: Part-Time Firefighter

💰Pay: $18 per hour with certification requirements and the ability to obtain off duty call pay ($15 per call)
💰Pay: $14 per hour with no certifications and the ability to obtain off duty call pay ($12 per call)

🕒 Schedule:
• 2 personnel on duty, 5 days a week(Mon-Fri)
• Shifts: 8:00 AM–5:00 PM or 10:00 AM-7:00PM

✅ Requirements:
• NC Firefighter Certification
• NC/NR EMT-B or EMR Certification
• Class B Driver’s License (or obtain within 90 days of hire date)
• NC EVD & Driver Operator Cert. w/Pumps (or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire date)
• VR/TR certification (within 1 year of hire date).
Other Benefits include:
• Paid NFPA physical by the department
• Training Certification pay

Champion Fire/Rescue UTV-41 on Display at The South Atlantic Fire Rescue Expo! 🚒

We’re proud to have our department’s UTV on display at South Atlantic Fire Rescue Expo in Raleigh, NC, representing Champion Fire/Rescue alongside All Pro Fire & Safety, LLC

This UTV is an important asset to our department, helping us reach areas that traditional apparatus cannot access, assist with patient transport and rescue operations, and support wildland fire operations.

We appreciate All Pro Fire & Safety for showcasing our UTV and helping highlight the equipment and capabilities that this apparatus brings us to better serve our community

Last night, our members conducted Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) training. A RIT is a dedicated team of firefighters whose sole responsibility is to rescue a firefighter who becomes lost, trapped, injured, or otherwise unable to exit a structure during an emergency.

During this training, members practiced locating, packaging, and removing a downed firefighter through a window using specialized rescue techniques. Training like this ensures our firefighters are prepared to respond quickly and efficiently if a mayday situation ever occurs, because protecting those who protect our community is always a top priority.

Today, several of our members spent the day giving our station’s hangout room a fresh new look with a fresh coat of paint. Projects like this help create a space where our firefighters can relax, recharge, and build camaraderie between calls. A big thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and hard work to make it happen! 🚒🎨 Even our littlest firefighter supervised today’s project!!!!!

Today (7/18) Champion Fire/Rescue personnel will be throughout the district finishing static water point testing. Please use caution as personnel and apparatus conduct this testing throughout our district!!

Water point testing is the process of evaluating how much water a fire department can reliably obtain from a static water source, such as a pond, lake, river, dry hydrant, or cistern. The goal is to determine the available flow rate (measured in gallons per minute, or GPM) and ensure the water source is dependable for firefighting operations.

ALERT (7/16/2026 – 4:11 PM) - A Code ORANGE Action Day for ozone has been issued for Wake, Durham, Granville, Mecklenburg, and Gaston counties, effective Friday from 10AM to 8PM.

CODE ORANGE means that sensitive groups, such as older adults, children, active people, and those with lung disease such as asthma may experience health effects and should limit prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.

Champion Fire/Rescue mourns the loss of Cleveland County EMS Paramedic & FTO Ashley Moore, who was killed in the line of duty Monday morning following a traffic collision in Gaston County.

Our thoughts are with Ashley's family, the members of Cleveland County EMS, and all who are grieving this heartbreaking loss. We stand in solidarity with our EMS partners as we honor Ashley's service, dedication, and ultimate sacrifice
