Champion Fire Department

Champion Fire Department Fire Department - We offer Fire, Rescue, and Basic Life Support services. As a result, we are always seeking to add more volunteers to our current roster !!

Our Current Fire Administration :
Chief- Chris Golds
Deputy Chief- Grayson Sale
Captain- Darrell Williamson
Lieutenant- Dillon Hollar

We have NC Certified Firefighters, Wildland Firefighters, Technical Rescuer's and Water Rescue Technicians - along with other NC Rescue Specialties like Vehicle Extrication, Machinery and Agriculture Rescue, Ropes Technician and High Angle Rescue, etc. We also have

several career firefighters (work at paid depts when not volunteering), as well as Emergency Medical Responders and NC Emergency Medical Technicians for medical responses. About 70% of all fire departments around the country are staffed by volunteers, and / or a combination of volunteer / paid staff. If you are interested in giving-back by helping to serve the fire, accident and medical needs of the community - and if this sounds like it could be something you might be interested in, we hold meetings on Tuesday nights at 7pm at Champion Fire Dept. Come on by to check us out - and to learn how you too can contribute to the growing needs of the community - by serving as a volunteer fire fighter / first responder !!

Today members from Champion Fire/Rescue and Ferguson Fire Dept. got together for some great rural water supply training.

This training allowed personnel to practice high volume water movement and maintain a continuing water supply in areas without hydrants.

Working together during training helps strengthen teamwork, improve efficiency on the fireground, and better prepare our departments to protect our communities during incidents.

We would like to thank everyone who participated and helped make this training a success.

Just a reminder. Even though we have gotten some rain it is not enough to lift the burning ban.
Burning ban is still in effect. No outside burning of any kind is allowed per NC Forestry Service
