This campaign has been grassroots from the beginning.

I chose to run for Whatcom County Prosecutor without a party label because politics should not determine how this office does its job.

I am grateful to have earned the endorsement of the Whatcom County Republicans. On August 15, I will interview for the Whatcom Democrats’ endorsement. I appreciate the opportunity and welcome the conversation.

While I hope to secure the endorsement of both parties, I have not and will not accept money from either political party. My campaign will continue to be funded solely by individuals who believe in this campaign.

This campaign has been about listening to people across Whatcom County. Republicans, Democrats, independents, law enforcement, victims, attorneys, people in recovery, teachers, parents, business owners, and people who simply want to see things work better.

The message has been the same every time.
Whatcom County needs a Prosecutor’s Office that holds violent offenders and drug dealers accountable, supports victims, and takes addiction and mental health seriously. It needs an office that works for everyone.

I hope to earn support from people across the political spectrum because this office serves all of us.

With only 439 ballots remaining to be counted, our campaign heads into the General Election with tremendous momentum.

We are thrilled that more than 26,000 voters cast their ballot for a vision of strong leadership and mentorship, increased accountability for violent offenders and drug dealers, better communication with victims and law enforcement, and better opportunities for those suffering from addiction and mental health issues.

The elected Prosecutor for Whatcom County needs to serve the People First. Safety Always.

That’s exactly what I will do. The work continues!

Thank you, Whatcom County!

Initial returns show this campaign getting nearly 40 percent of the vote in a four person race. Nearly double that of second place.

Ballots are still being counted, but it is clear that people want a better, safer county. That takes real work and leadership.

I want to thank my friends and family that helped get to this point. Also, thank you to every person that helped fund this campaign, put up a sign, knocked a door, or cast a ballot.

There is a lot more work to be done before November. This job is far from over.

It’s time to restore trust in the Prosecutor’s Office.

The Whatcom County Prosecutor is more than just an office manager. It’s about leading a vitally important office.

It requires experienced leadership, work ethic, integrity, and someone willing to do the tough job.

I’m ready.

Last call for votes!!! Find a drop box by 8. Don’t leave it up to other people!

On Primary Election Eve, I just want to thank everyone that helped this campaign over the last 4 months.

The momentum and response is real, and I am optimistic about the upcoming results.

From every person that donated money to every person that endorsed me to every volunteer that helped along the way to every group that invited me to speak to every person that opened their door to listen to me to every handshake along the way….. I am eternally grateful.

I plan to ask you all to do it again over the next three months.

But, to make that happen, I’m asking that each one of you reach out to people close to you and make sure they get their ballots in. Every vote will count.

My hope is that Whatcom County will send a message with this vote that we are tired of the status quo and that we want a better, safer County.

Help get this across the (half-way) finish line. Tell people why this race matters. Tell them that there are better days ahead. It’s time.

Tell them to Vote for Ryan!

Even though it’s the weekend before the primary election, i took a break from the campaign trail.

I was honored to get a chance to be a judge at the sandcastle competition in Birch Bay. It was a high powered judging panel with two County Council members and a Superintendent!

Lots of skill with the participants and looked like everyone had a great time! As did I.

Now back to it and reminding people to vote!!!

This election is about ensuring our Prosecutor’s Office effectively serves our community.

Too often, when we talk about accountability and public safety, the voices of victims are forgotten.

Throughout this campaign, many people have reached out to share their personal experiences with me. With their permission, I’m sharing two unsolicited statements from individuals whose experiences shaped their perspective on this race.

I’m grateful they trusted me with their stories and wanted their voices to be heard.

We can do better. We will do better.

Please make your voice heard by returning your ballot and voting for Ryan Swinburnson for Whatcom County Prosecutor by August 4.

Ballots are out, and this race comes down to one question.

Are we finally going to hold violent offenders, repeat offenders, and those who profit from selling drugs in our community accountable, or are we going to accept more of the same from the Prosecutor’s Office?

I am running for Whatcom County Prosecuting Attorney because victims deserve timely justice, our neighborhoods deserve to be safe, and people struggling with addiction or mental health challenges deserve real opportunities to get their lives back on track.

Over the past few months, I have spent my time talking with people across Whatcom County. I have heard what is working, what is not, and what they expect from their prosecutor. I am ready to bring experienced leadership, accountability, and a fresh perspective to the office.

If those are the priorities you want in your next Prosecuting Attorney, I would appreciate your vote.

Please take a few minutes to fill out your ballot and return it by August 4.

Thank you for your support.
