Last week, the City of Ferndale welcomed representatives from the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Coalition (WWRC), Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO), and State Representative Alicia Rule for a tour of Metalworks Skate Park.

The visit provided an opportunity to highlight the impact of Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) funding in Ferndale and showcase how investments in outdoor recreation can help create spaces for community members to gather, stay active, and connect.

City staff appreciated the opportunity to share the story of Metalworks Skate Park, discuss the value it brings to the community, and provide insight into how state recreation funding supports projects at the local level.

A special thank you to James with Grindline Skateparks and Jesse, owner of Huli Boardshop, for joining the tour and sharing their experience, expertise, and insight into the Metalworks Skate Park project.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the visit and for your continued support of recreation opportunities in Ferndale!
