The magnificent seven! This class is special not only because the number of recruits is tied for the most in department history, but also because there are two second-generation District 7 firefighters among them. Now that’s something to celebrate! The seven of them combined already have 38 years of diverse fire service experience, including structural, wildland and industrial, and will now embark on a rigorous two-month day academy before joining their respective shifts. Best of luck!

While on a call, our firefighters noticed that the railing on the porch of one of our community members was broken and unstable. Later on, the crew came by off-duty with their own tools and supplies to install a new one. Being a firefighter is about being a servant to others, whether it means responding to major emergencies or taking care of small things like this to enhance the safety of someone’s home. We’re proud of our members and their commitment to their neighbors.
