Ferndale, Michigan—On Thursday, June 18, 2026, at approximately 12:52 p.m., Ferndale police officers and Fire Department personnel responded to the area of 22230 Woodward Avenue (near the intersection of Woodward Avenue and College Street) on a report of a crash involving a truck and an e-bike. Upon arrival, responding officers located the e-bike operator and pronounced the individual deceased at the scene. The individual has been identified as a 33-year-old Ferndale resident.

One of the units involved in the accident was an Oakland County Road Commission truck. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist with the investigation.

The Ferndale Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the victim’s family and friends during this difficult time.

The incident remains under investigation.

Thank you to Second Chances Animal Resources, Inc. for hosting the Paw Protection event and helping the City receive a microchip scanner to help lost pets. This was a great event! 🐾

Thank you to all the vendors, volunteers, and staff who stuck through the rain. Thank you to all who donated pet supplies to fill a cop car. And most importantly, thank you to all the pups and their owners—especially Rocko, who made the Chief’s day. 😊

Join us in congratulating Recruit Officer Brooke Williamson on her graduation from the Oakland Police Academy.🎉

After successfully completing the academyʼs rigorous 18-week training program, Recruit Officer Williamson has reached an important milestone in her law enforcement career. Members of the Ferndale Police Department were proud to attend the graduation ceremony and show their support as she celebrated this achievement with family and friends.

Recruit Officer Williamson was officially sworn in today and will now begin the Ferndale Police Departmentʼs Field Training Program, where she will continue to develop the skills and experience necessary to serve our community.

Congratulations, Officer Williamson! We are excited to welcome you to the department and look forward to your continued success. 👮‍♀️

Yesterday, officers from the Ferndale Police Department were honored to participate in the City of Ferndale's 2026 Memorial Day Parade. 🇺🇸

A heartfelt thank you to the Ferndale Memorial Association for hosting this important event and continuing the tradition of honoring our fallen service members. We are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside our community in remembrance.

The Touch a Truck event was a blast! Families explored so many cool cars, grabbed a hot dog and some ice cream, and got to know our Ferndale Police and Firefighters. Thank you to everyone who attended the event, even in the rain. 🚓👮‍♂️ 🚒👩‍🚒 🚛👷‍♀️
