Whatcom-Skagit Housing We offer affordable housing in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. Self Help builders are ordinary people with an extraordinary desire for home ownership.

Whatcom-Skagit Housing is a private non-profit corporation funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (through Rural Development) to assist limited income families interested in building their own homes. Our services are free to our clients and include: Formation of building groups of 7-10 families who will be working on the construction of each other's homes. Assistance in applying for a 502 Ru

ral Housing Loan from Rural Development. Provision of fully serviced, builder ready lots. 3 and 4 bedroom one and two story house plans. Assistance in selection of subcontractors. Building account management and construction budgeting. Instructions are given during every phase of the construction process.

These two enjoyed the sunshine Sunday while pushing toward the finish line on the homes at Malloy Terrace 1. What do you do when final inspection is around the corner but the garage doors are backordered until February of 2022? Well of course, you figure it out! They enclosed the opening with plywood and built temporary doors. Supply issues are certainly creating opportunities for problem solving these days.

Family Accounts Manager Position Open

This role combines bookkeeping, loan preapproval and office management.
Applicants need experience working with payables and receivables, processing payroll, account management and financial reports. Assist applicants with loan preapproval, assemble building groups and communicate with applicants, construction field staff, director and governing program.
Requirements
2+ years experience in bookkeeping using QuickBooks
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
Excellent Communication skills (both verbal and written)
Skills
Strong organization, ability to collaborate with team, attention to detail. Follow established procedures to meet program guidelines.
Other Duties:
Front office reception, banking, ordering supplies, light cleaning, file management, mail sorting, budgeting, interviewing applicants, meetings.
Whatcom Skagit Housing is a well established (1976) self-help home building program funded through USDA Rural Development. In this program, qualifying applicants work together in groups of 8 to build each other’s home.
Position begins March 22, 2021
Salary Range: $52,000-$58,000/year DOE. Includes medical, dental, vision and retirement package.
