Not only an exceptional turnout, but a testimony to the services to those who served! Team Nineline was honored to sponsor and attend this year's 2026 confrence in Wenatchee, Washington.

Hosted by your Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs, and attended by true leaders from across the state. Leaders like Megan Stanley, Pierce County Deputy Director of Human Services; Chris Diaz, Skagit County Veteran Services; Dr. Larry Pruitt, VA Puget Sound Health Care System Director of Su***de Prevention, our very own Shawn Durnen, Nineline Veteran services President; and the Honorable gentleman John Wayne Troxell, (SEAC) (Ret’d) senior enlisted advisor to the chairman of the joint chief of staff.

This 9th annual gathering brought together leaders, advocates, change-makers, and veterans from the Pacific Northwest. This past week, meaningful planning, presentations, and conversation echoed a shared theme for the upcoming year: bridging care, connection, and support to our military communities across the state (SMVF).

From the Governor's challenge, system navigation, clinical and non-clinical best practices, transitional support, lethal means, and much more. Networking that shaped a practical application approach was reaffirmed as day 2 ended with a panel discussion led by Dr. Larry Pruitt, Lesley Babbs, Tony Sandoval, Kim Pham, Eric Burns, David Konkler, Brett Bass, and Shawn Durnen.

“Washington. East, west, north and south, you're not alone. These collaborations, systems and unified approaches allow for a no wrong door approach and mean we are here, as a team, as a joint force and as a support for those who need us most.” a statement echoed by President Durnen referencing the last 10 years of government affairs, micro, macro and mezzo level team ups, cross-sector client centered- evidence based practices and associated service delivery.

We, like all of the attendees, are grateful to WDVA for their true dedication to this annual event and the hard work of their staff, leadership, and partners in making this happen. Thank you all for such a productive week and the many discussions and planning to follow.

NineLine Veteran Services Strengthens Bridge in Care for Washington’s Military, Veterans, and Families Through Cross-Sector Partnership Tacoma, Wash.

NineLine Veteran Services is proud to highlight the growing collaboration that continues to expand critical support for the military community, veterans, and their families across Washington state.

Several members of the NineLine team are AmeriCorps VetCorps alumni. That shared experience fuels a deep commitment to peer-informed, community-rooted service. Building on that foundation, NineLine in partnership with your Washington state department of veteran affairsis expanding its reach to some of the most at-risk and underserved veterans and military families in the state while strengthening its partnership with your Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA).

“Service to those who served looks different when organizations, state agencies, and community partners coordinate instead of operating in silos,” said Shawn Durnen, President and CEO of NineLine Veteran Services and a U.S. Army combat veteran. “We are honored for this opportunity to keep growing that network so more veterans and families can access the housing, benefits navigation, wellness, and emergency support they need.”

This continued alignment with WDVA and other partners reflects NineLine’s mission of “Service 2 others” and its focus on practical, coordinated care. By combining the lived experience of AmeriCorps VetCorps alumni with state-level resources and community networks, the organization is helping close gaps for those who need support the most.

NineLine encourages the public and partners to learn more about what effective, cross-sector collaboration looks like in action and how it is making a measurable difference for Washington’s military and veteran community.

The Vet Corps program, aimed at empowering and supporting people who served in the military, will begin its program year on Sept. 16. The program partners with colleges, universities, and veteran service sites to help veterans navigate education, employment, health care access and disability benefits. Vet Corps is operated by Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs

In partnership with your Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs and AmeriCorps / Washington Service Corps, this full-time national service position puts you on the front lines of peer support for our military community.

You’ll help break down barriers, connect veterans and families to resources, lead outreach, and strengthen networks across Washington’s veteran and social service organizations.

This weekend’s Seafair kick-off in Seattle brought together an outstanding group of partners and friends dedicated to serving our military, veterans, and their families.

Team NineLine was proud to be on the ground with President Shawn Durnen, Board Director Tim Davis, and Employment Case Manager & Outreach Coordinator Monica McNeal. We were joined by our partners from the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic Director Moises Lozacruz and Regional Lead Nichole Ayres, along with Ryan Mielcarek of Veteran Rites.

A special thank you to our friends and partners at Boeing in Washington State for welcoming us as guests. Allowing us to be with so many military personnel, including the amazing! US Navy Blue Angels. Their continued investment and unwavering support for the military community mean a great deal, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside them.
