Yesterday, our Medic 5 crew in Eagle Rock was recognized with a Cardiac Life Save Recognition plaque.

Andrew Abbott and Nick Wiley were on Medic 5 a couple weeks ago when they responded to a medical call. During the course of that call, the patient went into cardiac arrest. Abbott and Wiley successfully, and quickly, resuscitated the patient with CPR and one defibrillation. Great job!

Last Thursday family and friends came together to celebrate Chief Ferguson’s 25 year career with Botetourt Fire-EMS. He was recognized by Delegate Terry Austin and surprised by visits from former County Administrators Jerry Burgess and Spencer Sutter. We would like to wish Chief Ferguson all the best as he begins a new chapter in his career as Chief of Bedford County Fire and Rescue.

This week, as part of his final week, Chief Ferguson recognized three department personnel for their years of service benchmarks. Firefighter/Paramedic Kyle Forney (5 years), Captain Turner Griffin (10 years), and Lieutenant Adam Smith (15 years). Congratulations to each of these gentlemen on their tenure and continued service to Botetourt County!! 👏🎉
