NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION:
A special election will be held in conjunction with the November 3, 2026 General Election for the unexpired term of Tommy L. Moore, Clerk of Circuit Court. After 35 years of service to the citizens of Botetourt County, Mr. Moore will retire as of December 31, 2026. The candidate chosen through this special election will serve the unexpired term, which will begin January 1, 2027 and expire on December 31, 2031.

Candidates must file paperwork no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, August 14, 2026 in the Registrar's Office. Voters should report to their regularly assigned precincts to vote today. There is no voting in the Registrar's Office in Fincastle today. GO VOTE!!!

Early voting ended on Saturday, April 18.

If you have not voted in the constitutional referendum special election, make a plan to vote Tuesday, April 21. Polls are open 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

We had 417 voters yesterday! Wow - turnout for this special election has surpassed turnout in November 2025! Total in-person early voting ended with 5,844 voters or 21%. This exceeds November 2025 early voting turnout of 5,494.

No voting in the Registrar's Office on Tuesday. Voters must report to their assigned precincts.
