We are thrilled to welcome Kara Maynard and Courtney Denning from Deeply Rooted Landscapes as this year’s featured speakers at Homegrown Habitat: How To! 🌿

🌱 Kara Maynard, Owner – Deeply Rooted Landscapes
Kara has spent her life dedicated to sustainability and habitat creation, beginning with her passion for environmental stewardship in childhood. After serving in the U.S. Navy, her interest in sustainable gardening led her to native plants, and she has spent over 16 years bringing nature home through thoughtful garden design. In 2019, she founded Deeply Rooted Landscapes, a native plant nursery and design firm that has grown into a thriving team offering consultations, garden design, maintenance, and invasive species removal.
🌿 Courtney Denning – Native Plant Enthusiast & Educator
Courtney’s love for nature started young, with a special interest in birdwatching and plant ecology. Her background includes roles in environmental education, social media, and community programming, including founding the Piqua Seed Library. Since joining Deeply Rooted Landscapes in 2022, she has helped create native plant gardens and educate the public on the power of native landscaping. She has transformed her ¼-acre yard into a thriving habitat with over 200 native Ohio plants!
