We had a whole flock of fun with Amanda Fay on WTOL 11’s Good Day! 🦩

We stopped by to talk about the 5th Annual Cancer Patient Services Flock Walk and all the ways you can be part of it on September 12.

But behind all the flamingos and fun is something that matters deeply to us...

The local cancer patients we support are our coworkers, neighbors, friends and family members right here in Hancock County. And every person who walks, runs, volunteers, donates, purchases a raffle ticket or simply helps spread the word helps us continue showing up for them.

Of course we want to thank Amanda and WTOL 11 for helping us grow our flock and share our mission, but really it's YOU who can truly help us reach more people and make an impact on the lives of cancer patients!

We’re getting so close, Hancock County... Who’s flocking with us September 12? 🦩

It's that time when we lift each other up, celebrate our survivors, remember those we love and show local cancer patients just how many people are standing beside them.

The 5th Annual Cancer Patient Services Flock Walk is almost here!

Haven’t joined the flock yet? There’s still time to walk, run, build a team, volunteer, cheer, honor someone with a flamingo or simply show up.

Why I Walk 🦩
.. For Joanne Reinhart, it all comes down to love. ♥️

She walks for the loved ones she’s lost to cancer. She walks for the family member facing cancer right now. And she walks because she knows how much courage it takes to simply show up for one another through it all.

That’s what Joanne loves most about Flock Walk.

On September 12, you’ll see caregivers walking beside patients who may be on day one of their journey. You’ll see survivors celebrating 5, 10, even 20+ years cancer free. You’ll see families remembering someone they wish were still beside them.

Different stories. Different stages. One flock.

Because whether you’re celebrating, supporting, fighting, or remembering, it really does come down to love and the courage to show up for one another.

That’s why Joanne walks.
Who will you show up for?

How funky is YOUR flamingo? 🦩

The Funky Flamingo Contest is BACK at this year’s Flock Walk, and you can show as much Flock spirit as you like!

Keep it simple. Add a little pink or purple. Break out the feathers. Wear the tutu. Coordinate your entire team. Tailor it to your level of fun!

We’ll be watching for plenty of Flock Walk spirit and crowning our Funky Flamingo favorites with awards day-of.

So gather your flock, plan your look and join us September 12 for the 5th Annual Cancer Patient Services Flock Walk!

And because every flock has one…

Double-dare: Tag the person who is MOST likely to take the Funky Flamingo Contest very seriously. 😂🦩

This is the kind of stress we can all hope for… 😂💸

One LoanDepot Raffle ticket could have you deciding what to do with $250, $500, $750 or $1,500!

And every ticket purchased helps Cancer Patient Services support local cancer patients and their families. So really, we’d call that a win either way!🦩

Get your tickets:
• At the CPS office
• From a CPS Board member
• At LoanDepot on Tiffin Avenue before Flock Walk

Someone we’re remembering.
Someone whose cancer journey changed ours, too.

And if you aren't able to be there day-of, what an inexpensive but HUGE way to show your support!

Make it yours!

Sometimes love looks like simply staying beside someone 🫂

Through the appointments. The waiting. The good news. The hard news. The ordinary Tuesdays when cancer is still there, even though the rest of the world keeps moving.

And sometimes, it looks like putting on matching shirts, grabbing the dog, and walking side by side. 💜

At Flock Walk, we celebrate our cancer survivors and patients. But everywhere we look, we also see the people beside them.

The spouses. The partners. The kids. The parents. The siblings. The best friends. The caregivers. Even the four-legged members of the family.

The people quietly saying, again and again:
No one fights cancer alone.

🗓️ On September 12, come walk beside someone you love.

Because sometimes the most powerful thing we can do for another person is make sure they never have to look around and wonder if anyone is still there.

Why I Walk 🦩

For Betsy Hackworth, the reason is personal.

Cancer hit her family in an unimaginable way when her mother-in-law and her sister were both diagnosed with lung cancer at the same time.

It’s an experience that showed Betsy just how deeply a cancer diagnosis affects not only the person receiving it, but the entire family surrounding them.

That’s why she supports Cancer Patient Services. And that’s why she shows up for Flock Walk.

Because behind every person walking on September 12, there’s a story. Someone they’re celebrating. Someone they’re supporting. Someone they’re remembering.

Betsy knows her why. What’s yours?

Join Betsy and the rest of our flock at the 5th Annual Cancer Patient Services Flock Walk on September 12.
