On this day 234 years ago, our Founding Fathers signed the United States Constitution, making it known as the Supreme Law of the Land. At the close of America’s Constitutional Convention in 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked by George Washington’s friend, Mrs. Elizabeth Powell “Well, doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” Franklin responded with “A republic, madam, if you can keep it.” Our Founding Fathers set an idea of how they wanted America to be governed, and it still stands firm today. Remembering this special day and the words written in this important document are even more prevalent today. We must uphold these firm beliefs our forefathers addressed and carry that with us every day.

To Our Flag City Honor Flight Friends and Supporters,

Recently our Flag City Honor Flight board made the difficult decision to postpone our 2021 season due to increasing COVID-19 cases. This includes our flights and bus trips that had been scheduled September through November.

We were eager to resume our trips this year after the pandemic grounded us for all of 2020. We followed all mandates for our Veterans and Guardians making the trips, including requiring COVID-19 vaccination, and planned to strictly follow all COVID-19 restrictions in place at the time of travel. Despite all this, the recent increase in cases of the highly contagious Delta variant gave us no choice.

For the health and safety of our Veterans - our number one priority - this decision is in everyone’s best interest. Please watch for announcements and updates regarding our future plans. We are looking forward to once again doing what we so deeply believe in, and that is providing our Veterans “One more Tour…with Honor.”

https://vimeo.com/129369183 A short Honor Flight slide show to the music of Louis Armstrong, by NFHF's official photographer, Dave Junion. Dave's photographic artistry captures through his camera lenses, a split second of a veterans' soul during their Honor Flight experience. Please help other veterans across the country share these experiences by simply voting for the Honor Flight Dream Bike at the following link. If the Honor Flight Dream Bike stays in 1st place till Thanksgiving evening, it will move into the finals, & my 8 year dream to have Orange County Choppers build a custom Honor Flight Bike will come to fruition.
