🚨 Update on Vandalism in Firestone Parks
Earlier this month, we shared concerns about several acts of vandalism reported in Firestone parks. We asked the community to help us keep an eye on these spaces, but unfortunately, the behavior has continued.

Ongoing vandalism has led to the closure of the restrooms at Peninsula Park in Barefoot Lakes.

We need the community’s help in protecting our parks. If you see suspicious activity, please report it to non-emergency dispatch at 720-652-4222.

Parks and facilities that continue to experience repeated vandalism will be evaluated for potential closure.

We love hearing when we get it right. 👮‍♂️💙

At the Firestone Police Department, we believe policing is about service. Every interaction is an opportunity to treat people with professionalism, respect, honesty, and understanding.

We recently received a wonderful compliment about Officer Chase Knuth following a traffic stop. The community member specifically recognized Officer Knuth for taking the time to explain a recent traffic pattern change, answer questions, and educate rather than simply issue a citation.

That is exactly the kind of service orientation we strive for at Firestone PD.

Our officers have a responsibility to enforce the law, but how we do it matters. Taking a moment to listen, explain, educate, and treat people with dignity can make a lasting impression—and it can build the trust that is so important between a police department and the community we serve.

Thank you to the community member who took the time to share this feedback, and thank you to Officer Knuth for representing Firestone PD so well.

We are proud to serve Firestone. We are even more proud when our community lets us know that we're getting it right. 💙

🚨 Community Notice: First Responder Training Exercise – Wednesday, August 12 🚨

Don't be alarmed if you see a large emergency response presence in Firestone next Wednesday.

The Firestone Police Department and the Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District will be conducting a planned first-responder training exercise at Carbon Valley Lutheran Church (10916 Cimarron St.) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

There is NO threat to the public. This is a scheduled training designed to help first responders strengthen their coordinated response during emergency situations.

During the exercise, you may notice:
🚓 A large presence of police officers, firefighters, and emergency vehicles
🚒 Emergency lights and responders using training equipment
🔊 Periodic loud noises as part of the exercise

If you live, work, travel through the area, or have children attending a nearby childcare facility, please know this is only a training exercise.

Training like this prepares our first responders to work together effectively during real emergencies—helping them respond quickly, safely, and efficiently when our community needs them most.

Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue investing in the safety and preparedness of our community.

Please join us in welcoming the Firestone Police Department's three newest Police Recruits: Clare Edison, Paul Scarlett, and Natalie Long-Bradford!

This week, they began their 17-week training at the Front Range Community College Police Academy, where they'll develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to serve our community. We're proud to sponsor them and can't wait to see them grow throughout the academy.

And yes... we're just like every proud parent on the first day of school—making sure to snap a few photos before they head off! 🍎📚👮

Good luck, Clare, Paul, and Natalie! We're cheering you on every step of the way.

🚨 We Need Your Help Protecting Firestone Parks 🌳

Over the past week, we've seen several acts of vandalism in our parks, including damage to restrooms and graffiti on our brand-new playgrounds.

These parks are built for everyone to enjoy—families, children, neighbors, and visitors—and our staff takes great pride in keeping them clean, safe, and welcoming. It's disappointing to see these community spaces damaged.

We will continue increasing patrols in key areas, but we need your help. Our community is our greatest partner in keeping these spaces safe.

👀 If you see something suspicious, please report it immediately by calling non-emergency dispatch at 720-652-4222.

Please don't assume someone else has already called. Even if it seems minor, your report could help prevent further damage or identify those responsible.

📱 While many people share concerns on social media, we can't monitor posts 24/7. Calling dispatch is the fastest and most effective way to get information to responding officers.

⏰ Reminder: All Firestone parks close one hour after sunset and reopen one hour before sunrise.

Together, we can help protect the parks and public spaces that make Firestone a great place to live. Thank you for being our eyes and ears.
