In partnership with the Fishers Island Library, Lighthouse Works is thrilled to welcome former island resident Rick Moody as part of the Harry S. Parker III Visiting Artist Program!

The bestselling author of six novels, three story collections, and three non-fiction works is returning to the island for a special evening. Join us for an engaging reading from his latest work, followed by a Q&A session where you can dive into his creative process.

This luminous new story isn't about the famous painter, but rather a chance encounter at the Metropolitan Museum of Art between a woman and her ex-stepfather, exploring the sweet, impermanent nature of life and the lasting power of connection.

Earlier this month, neighbors and friends filled our space for an evening to celebrate the Library that brings us all together. The gathering reminded us how special this community truly is.

The highlight of the night was undoubtedly honoring our incredible Librarian, Ann Banks, for a monumental 50 years of dedicated service! For five decades, Ann has been the heart and soul of our library, turning pages, sharing smiles, and inspiring generations of readers.

Thank you, Ann, for your unwavering dedication, and thank you to our amazing community for celebrating with us. Here’s to many more chapters together!
