With some help from Todd Parr’s book, “The Family Book,” members of Fishers Resists are sending Governor Braun reading material that might be within his reading level.

As Parr’s book clearly relays, “there are lots of different ways to be a family. Your family is special no matter what kind it is.”

Good things are happening. Let’s take a look:

✅ Vice Admiral Nancy Lacore -- one of the senior military leaders fired without cause by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth last summer -- finished first in a crowded Democratic primary in her bid to flip a Republican House seat in South Carolina.

✅ Marshall County, Indiana is the first county in Indiana to pass a permanent ban on data center development.

✅ Tr ’s name is removed from the Kennedy Center facade, after a federal judge ruled the rebranding [unl]awful.

✅ You can still eat ice cream with a cherished friend you might never’ve met if you hadn’t started fightin’ bad guys together.

He'll give some prepared remarks and talk about the assessment report that The Steady State —a not-for-profit org comprised of 340 former National Security Advisors — released in October 2025.

We are hosting a postcard writing event this Sunday, June 14, 11:30 am - 1:30pm at Qahwah Coffee in Fishers.

Governor Mike Braun’s small-minded “June is nuclear family month” proclamation is even more ridiculous considering less than 50% of Indiana families fit his description of “nuclear,” (defined as one husband + one wife & their children).

In addition, his narrow scope alienates and delegitimizes hundreds of thousands of households in Indiana who don’t look like that.

Let’s remind him families come in every shape & size.

Postcards & sample scripts will be provided. Please bring stamps if you can.

We know there are Pride events, Visibility Brigade protests & Watch Parties that day. Hope you’ll make the rounds!
