The Annual Fitchburg Food Truck Festival is quickly approaching and we are so excited to once again be hosting and participating in the planning of it all! We are also thankful for a bunch of sponsors who have helped us out this year! Each Friday leading up to event we will be highlighting a sponsor, including this one!

Our Annual Food Truck Festival would not be happening if it wasn't for WooTrucks! Mark (a.k.a. The Dogfather) and his team work with us annually to make it a special event by inviting the trucks and vendors.

The word is out! 🎉 After six years, the FRA has successfully sold our property at 0 Airport Road to GFI.

Getting to this finish line literally took a village. We’re grateful to the many community partners who helped make it happen, including the City of Fitchburg, MassDEP, Hannigan Engineering, and so many others who played a role along the way. Thank you to the Worcester Business Journal for this great article.

Six years in the making—and well worth the journey! 🙌

GFI has been working since at least 2022 to build an industrial warehouse building at the site.

The FRA is loving what is happening in downtown Fitchburg! Sure, there are naysayers and perception problems from Fitchburg back in the day, but that is all changing. Come see for yourself! We are proud to help with many of the efforts that are coming to life along Main Street and partnering with amazing people like Tracy Sladen. She has poised herself to be the go-to person for downtown commercial real estate and that goes for working with the FRA as well. We are so proud of her efforts and everyone else's who are helping to make downtown come alive. You can read more about it here in the Worcester Business Journal:

With new housing and public investment reshaping downtowns, entrepreneurs are attracted by lower rents and growing activity, while local leaders see them as essential to filling storefronts, generating foot traffic, and creating amenities.

We are so proud of our board member Maribel Cruz for kicking off the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce’s LIDER-a group that supports Latino small business owners within the region. Maribel serves a chair and will take this committee to great heights! It was also an honor for the FRA to be invited to this enthusiastic kick-off and we can’t wait to support this group’s efforts in any way we can!

It is with heavy hearts that all of us at the FRA share the passing of our beloved former Board member, Dr. Laura Bayless, following a long illness.

Laura's bright smile, calm demeanor, thoughtful wisdom, and unwavering love for this community touched everyone she met. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel valued and always took a genuine interest in their lives. Her kindness, leadership, and friendship will be deeply missed.

We love you, Laura. Thank you for all you gave to our community. You will be forever in our hearts and never forgotten.

The FRA was pleased to serve as a supporting sponsor for the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce's Annual Meeting today, and was particularly inspired by the recognition of numerous regional leaders for their outstanding community dedication. Governor Maura Healy culminated the event with highlights of Massachusetts past, present, and future and how North Central weaves into it all. Great job to all at NCMCC!! , , , , ,
