The Fitzwilliam Town Library has been invited to attend the IMLS Convening 250: Telling America’s Story, hosted by the Institute of Museum and Library Science with all expenses paid in Washington, D.C. on June 9-12. This national convening brings librarians from small and rural communities together to share ideas, resources, and programs that tell the national and local American story as we approach and celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
On the 9th, I have the great opportunity to tour the National Archives Museum and The Library of Congress. Day 2 & 3 will comprise of various workshops.
I am super excited to attend, learn from other librarians and share our special community with others! 📚🇺🇸

Our 250th celebration was a massive success! Thank you to the more than 200 people who attended our colonial-themed party this morning. Many thanks to all who made this possible, including the Fitzwilliam Historical Society and Historical Society of Cheshire County, who loaned us such amazing artifacts to display!

The Library staff is at it again… could it be overdue books? They are obviously in trouble.
Come celebrate America’s 250th at our Colonial Party tomorrow from 10-12. You can pose for a photo op like this!
We’ll have food, crafts, demonstrations, and live lambs. Stop by the Farmer’s Market on their opening day at the Common. It should be a fun morning!

Today we made rainbow pancakes which were delicious! Then, Miss Boo and the kids explored water samples from the children’s pond behind the library. Besides trout, what other little species are swimming in there? What do they survive on? What kind of conditions do they need to live? 🔍🪳🔎

Had a wonderful morning spending time with birds and new bird/librarian friends at the McLane Audubon Center in Concord. The Flight Path Program gave me lots of ideas for future birding programs. Thanks to Deb Dutcher at the New Hampshire State Library, for arranging this!
